no it's really dark in the US too lol my mom asked to speak with the manager once because she thought the jeans were too low on the male mannequins, talk about being mortified!

I cannot be happier with this series. I can’t tell you for how long I’ve been discouraged by sizes. In high school I was always a size 8-9 (and I thought that was huge). Now I range anywhere from a 10-14. In my mind it’s set that I’m a size 10 and when I don’t fit in a size 10 I’m like damn I gained weight and then I get all upset and think to myself that I need to lose weight. It never really occurred to me until this series that fits of jeans vary from stores and styles. I know a lot of others can relate to this

Destiny Reidel American Eagle is more appealing online than in store. My local store has a good selection of shirts and sometimes shorts but I only go to find my size in things and then order online.

I love seeing an average sizes girl in relation to fashion. like i feel like i always taught that you were super skinny or plus sized and as a size 8 it made me feel really bad so i just wanted to say thnak you for showing girls that its okay to just look normal!
Oh my gosh same. I'm a size four, but I'm a chubby size four and I 100% feel that whole "you're either super skinny or plus size" thing. The place where it always got me is bathing suits. I'm not sure if it's just me, but I feel like every bathing suit model has a flat (or at the very least, not pudgy) stomach. Even plus sized models have stomachs that lay flat in their swimsuits. My entire life I've been super self conscious about my stomach. Even though I'm technically "small" by clothing standards, I still have a pudgy stomach that will never lay flat no matter what I wear, bigger arms, and big thighs and I feel like I rarely see girls who look like that in advertising even though so many of us do in real life.
It’s funny because I recently went to A&E and had an awful jean experience. I went home so upset because nothing fit me and then saw your old navy video. After the experience at A&E I really didn’t want to have to try on jeans at another store to just get upset again . But I did it and found jeans that fit...old navy hooked it up, haha. I really do appreciate this series because my weight has been all over the place and I been so in my head that I have to be a small/medium because I used to be. But seeing you laugh at yourself and still make a video even when you were down on yourself originally is awesome to see. Keep up the body positivity because it totally has been helping me and a lot of other people. 💕
I used to work at American Eagle and I can tell you that certain styles and even washes will fit differently. Not sure if other brands jeans are the same way but I know AE jeggings can fit super weird. Absolutely love your videos by the way!

Realistically if they carried all of their sizing available everything would only have a few of each size and whatever the normal shoppers aggregate in sizing would sell out. Thus missing out on sales. It sucks but everything being available online isn’t bad, just ordered my bf a ton of medium tall shirts.

On their online store they have short, long and x-long lengths for their jeans, and they come in way more sizes too. What they have in the store is disappointing
So disappointing that they don't go up a little higher in sizes in store! Yes I can measure myself and buy online, but seeing how drastically inconsistent their sizes are, I wouldn't want to use their size chart for everything because it could be inconsistent online as well, if that makes sense? Also really hate how they made their sizing different... I wear 14s in every storw but in AE they are soooo small on me. Saaaaad 😭😭😭

I STALK the ae sale section! The items can be expensive but I love the items I have from there. I love this series so much! It’s so reassuring to see someone literally the same size as me! You are so pretty, and seeing you be confident reminds me that I can be confident in my body too. Also it’s so reassuring to hear someone with the same issues with sizing, the same thing always happens to me!
I am living for these videos! I’m mid size as well and tall! It’s hard to find stuff that fits. Our culture is so fixated on the number/label sizes that it makes life a little uncomfortable. I loved AE in junior high and high school (I’m 30) so a looonnnngg time ago 😂 and it’s true, they definitely ran bigger back then and now are on the smaller side. My older brother would take me and get me 4 pairs of their jeans at the beginning of every school year. Can’t wait to see what store you do next! Watching these is giving me some confidence! I shop at American eagle often but usually online. I didn’t realize in store their size range is somewhat... offensive. Also I usually only go there for a sale. Full price, I’m not here for it.
Thank you Carrie for doing these videos. In the last 5 years I have gained quite a bit a weight. I went from a size 10-12/L or XL to a size 18/20 or 1x. I have been feeling terrible every time I look at the size tag. But these videos have made me realize that what is most important is not the size it self, but that I feel good in it. You are such a lovely human being. I know you struggle as well, but just always remember that you are a darn good person making a difference in this world!

I’m so glad I found this video!! I tried to like American eagle jeans so hard because I love the company as a whole but finding my size in different styles was a mess and I so badly wish the employees took the time to explain that to me! Even though I pushed my budget buying them, the sizing at Good American is SO consistent, extremely accurate size chart and they use an Afterpay type program as well to help with paying for them!
I find it super refreshing and relatable that you find American eagle to be expensive. Most TH-camrs go on shopping sprees that are like thousands of dollars and don’t even acknowledge how expensive everything is... like 250 dollar jeans are casual/no big deal to them. That’s a lot of money for jeans!

Since I have found your videos on this series and I am more confident about walking into these types of stores. I also have not been into a&e since 2003 the year I graduated. I always used to felt like was too old to go into these types of store now. Since watching I walked into forever 21 and found a really cute dress for my brothers wedding!

Please stop putting the clothes away yourself! I know that you do it to be nice and that's well appreciated, but working in retail myself I can tell you that customers almost 99% of the time put stuff away incorrectly (not folded the right way, not hung up the right way, not sorted by size etc.) which is not your fault because you don't know better, but it's way harder for us to go looking for the stuff you put away to 'fix it' than do it ourselves after you left it at the fitting rooms. Just thought I'd let you know :)

thank you for making these videos!! I’ve struggled with my self image for years, especially after losing a lot of weight in middle school. It’s just been a crazy up and down journey. Today I went prom dress shopping and it sort of almost ruined my day. I am normally an 8-10 in dresses. At one store, barely a 14 fit where as at the next I got a 12 and had to get it taken in. On their online store they have short, long and x-long lengths for their jeans, and they come in way more sizes too. What they have in the store is disappointing
Sarah D Yes!!! They have a bunch of online and even other jeans like their mom jean. also, every 6th pair of jeans is free on the app!
So disappointing that they don't go up a little higher in sizes in store! Yes I can measure myself and buy online, but seeing how drastically inconsistent their sizes are, I wouldn't want to use their size chart for everything because it could be inconsistent online as well, if that makes sense? Also really hate how they made their sizing different... I wear 14s in every storw but in AE they are soooo small on me. Saaaaad 😭😭😭

I STALK the ae sale section! The items can be expensive but I love the items I have from there. I love this series so much! It’s so reassuring to see someone literally the same size as me! You are so pretty, and seeing you be confident reminds me that I can be confident in my body too. Also it’s so reassuring to hear someone with the same issues with sizing, the same thing always happens to me!
I am living for these videos! I’m mid size as well and tall! It’s hard to find stuff that fits. Our culture is so fixated on the number/label sizes that it makes life a little uncomfortable.
I loved AE in junior high and high school (I’m 30) so a looonnnngg time ago 😂 and it’s true, they definitely ran bigger back then and now are on the smaller side.
My older brother would take me and get me 4 pairs of their jeans at the beginning of every school year.

I shop at American eagle often but usually online. I didn’t realize in store their size range is somewhat... offensive.
Also I usually only go there for a sale. Full price, I’m not here for it.
Thank you Carrie for doing these videos. In the last 5 years I have gained quite a bit a weight. I went from a size 10-12/L or XL to a size 18/20 or 1x. I have been feeling terrible every time I look at the size tag. But these videos have made me realize that what is most important is not the size it self, but that I feel good in it. You are such a lovely human being. I know you struggle as well, but just always remember that you are a darn good person making a difference in this world!

I used to be *OBSESSED* with the size number on my jeans. I always called myself a size 4 even though some jeans would fit quite snug and unflattering. I tried on a size 8 in American Eagle last week after watching some of your videos and found the perfect pair of jeans that fit my body so well, I don’t even care about the size anymore, it’s how it makes you feel and look. Watching this series has actually really helped me because it shows me that it doesn't matter if I have to go up a size in a certain store to get that perfect fit. It doesn't mean that I've gained weight or am any less beautiful.

I’m so glad I found this video!! I tried to like American eagle jeans so hard because I love the company as a whole but finding my size in different styles was a mess and I so badly wish the employees took the time to explain that to me! Even though I pushed my budget buying them, the sizing at Good American is SO consistent, extremely accurate size chart and they use an Afterpay type program as well to help with paying for them!

I find it super refreshing and relatable that you find American eagle to be expensive. Most TH-camrs go on shopping sprees that are like thousands of dollars and don’t even acknowledge how expensive everything is... like 250 dollar jeans are casual/no big deal to them. That’s a lot of money for jeans!

Since I have found your videos on this series and I am more confident about walking into these types of stores. I also have not been into a&e since 2003 the year I graduated. I always used to felt like was too old to go into these types of store now. Since watching I walked into forever 21 and found a really cute dress for my brothers wedding!

These videos remind me that sizing really is insane. I’ve been sitting in the changing room going over whether I was the size that I had with me. It is empowering to know I’m not crazy, some sizes are just not created equal, even at the same store.

Please stop putting the clothes away yourself! I know that you do it to be nice and that's well appreciated, but working in retail myself I can tell you that customers almost 99% of the time put stuff away incorrectly (not folded the right way, not hung up the right way, not sorted by size etc.) which is not your fault because you don't know better, but it's way harder for us to go looking for the stuff you put away to 'fix it' than do it ourselves after you left it at the fitting rooms. Just thought I'd let you know :)

In Germany 95% of people bring their stuff out of the fitting room and leave it on a rack or table placed by the exit of the fitting area. Luckily we don't have to deal with a lot of piles so maybe my advice isn't valid in the states :)

thank you for making these videos!! I’ve struggled with my self image for years, especially after losing a lot of weight in middle school. It’s just been a crazy up and down journey. Today I went prom dress shopping and it sort of almost ruined my day. I am normally an 8-10 in dresses. At one store, barely a 14 fit where as at the next I got a 12 and had to get it taken in. Soooo that was a fun experience. I’ve binged watched your videos for like the past hour and honestly, I feel so much better. I appreciate these, definitely here for this channel.

In my experience, I’ve always had to size down in tops and size up in bottoms drastically at American Eagle! Ugh. So annoying when shopping online for sure, although I definitely love their stuff (and Carrie!!! ❤️)
