Wendy got replaced twice but for some more mainstream ones could be tricky
Jess if referring to Matt and Trey.. if one of them die the show likely won't go on. ESPECIALLY if it's Trey.. he is the mastermind behind it, he has final say on everything and does the majority of the writing and directing. Matt is technically his partner but even by Matt's words, it's Trey's show.

Matt and Trey work so hard to make an episode each week. They have the fun part of the job doing the voices and I bet they feel so chilled in the booth

Yeah, that's my favorite voice on the show. I love them both, but I think Matt's done the better catalogue of voices. That said, any time Trey does any kind of Asian character, I absolutely die. Too funny!

Mr. Lu Kim is the funniest character on the show EASILY to me. The Chinese and Japanese rally will forever be my favorite scene in South Park.

They work 100 hours a week with a strict deadline to get the shows made. It's a difficult job both from a skill point of view and because of the long stressful hours. Recording the voices is only a small part of what they do.
If you're saying nonsense like being a chef is more difficult you should watch '6 days to air' which is a documentary about making South Park. It's absolutely grueling, much more so than most animated shows and much more than being a fucking chef.
They must have SO much fun doing this. I can imagine having to do all the voices can be a strain sometimes, but it must be fun coming up with the ideas for each episode.

It would be fun. I worked in radio for 15 years, and with digital editing when you can see the audio, its very easy to make edits like that.
