You already have a Smokey & The Bandit era one. Turn this one into KITT! Keep it! Then you’ll have a version of an iconic Trans Am from the 2nd and 3rd Gen. Also…maybe an LS swap. Love Trans Ams. I had a black 4th Gen.
@Marko True, to do a true KITT replica would be a lot of work. I probably should’ve clarified what I had in mind too - I was thinking do an exterior only KITT. As awesome as it would be to take it all the way, the interior would be really involved to replicate. Plus, the interior in this car is in such good shape anyway. The exterior shouldn’t be too terribly much work (compared to what they’ve done before). Especially just to do a casual replica. Heck, I’d even settle for them just blacking out the taillights and adding the red light bar to the front. 😂
You guys are like little boys playing with toys and just having a blast. The tire definition of a good father-son relationship. I wish I got to hang out with my dad like this.
I’m so excited about this build!!!! I had one identical to this when I was in high school! It was so funny that as you were showing it and opened the door I was thinking to myself about the smell that my car had! Oh the memories!
Scott, I'm Scott and I I'm 65 years old.... I would give anything in the world to work on a project car with my dad again. You're both lucky... I'm going to be following you and your dad with a tear in my eye. God bless you Scott
Here in Massachusetts it's impossible to find your dream car without rust, bruh I just want a miata, I don't even care about the motor, I'll end up Honda swapping it to be more reliable and moddable for the future
@@zacharytribou2728 My man I live in Jersey, I know the struggle haha. I have a 91 5.0 Fox Body thats built for the strip. Unless it goes for a cruise or whatever, it will stay a garage queen exactly for this reason lol.
Great car to resto. Really good platform to go with. I had a 79 Pontiac Grand Prix that had the 305 and I absolutely loved that motor. Then went on to restore a 69 Chevy short wheel fleet side threw a 327 off in it that was my Hoss! And each one I did with my dad and loved every minute of it great seeing y’all do this together, God Bless and stay safe.
I just purchased a 1985 Firebird. I love the looks of these 3rd gen cars. Especially the Firebirds and Trans Am. I'm looking forward to following this one and getting some inspiration for my own project
Awesome stuff guys!!! As a guy that frequently daily’s a beautiful original 89 corvette, I can’t wait to see this one come back to life. It has tons of potential. The 80s cars were not bad at all for their time and make great fun drivers today! Good luck on the build and great job as always!
@@justinweaver8787 Thank you Sir! They are just such fun cars it would almost be a crime not to. Its perfect for it really , great power to weight, good gas mileage, low maintenance, they’re really hard to beat! Only downside is only 2 seats but that’s fine by me😀
I got one 10 years ago when I was 15 I fixed it up really good I put a 8 extension on it and a hell cat exhaust so if your wondering it still makes the same. Sound
I've always wanted to make my own K.I.T.T. but honestly the bandit look is going to be sweet on this. The 305 doesn't get that much love because of the 350 being so easy to get ahold of, but you can turn that into a great engine with a bit of work
SCOTTS, YOU BEAUTIFUL BASTARDS!!! My first car was a 1986 Pontiac Trans Am with that same 5.0 liter (305) V8 and 4-barrel carburetor! T-tops, white, black wing. I AM SO EXCITED FOR THIS PROJECT!!!
Awesome car! Belongs in the list of movie cars that I like! Like the Trans Am (Smokey and the Bandit), DeLorean (Back to the Future), Dodge Charger (Dukes of Hazard)
These videos have helped me through my grandmother's passing it's been rough for me thank you so much for the amazing content scott keep up the good work, I'd like to see some Corvette or some mustang stuff if you do more sports and muscle cars
OH MAN!!! IT'S KIT FROM KNIGHT RIDER!!! I was OBSESSED with Knight Rider when I was a kid. I had all the toys. My 3 rd car was the 91' IROC Z CONVERABLE, it's brother. A blue one. It would move STOCK, but I put a little grrrr under the hood. I loved that car more than any car I've owned. I always wanted a knight-rider Trans AM.
I love restorations. Ive had the amazing opportunity to restore a few cars in a private collection, 71 Corvette Stingray, 72 Nova, many many Packards, forgot the year Ford Woody with original wood and a Cobra Kit Car.
I have always loved Trans Am and Firebirds. The t-tops are the best. I'm glad you're going to have fun and not blow it up! Your Dad has good vision, it will be beautiful.
Hell yeah man I'm glad you opened up this channel. Seriously consider signing the RPM act it's the easiest thing in the world it takes 2 seconds to do. It will help preserve and fight for our rights to keep these cars legal, not sure if you know but the EPA is trying to ban any kind of aftermarket parts for cars like these. So make sure you sign the RPM act by sema!
Pretty cool you all are doing a 3rd gen. The seats are cool with the color they are. Similar look to a lot of Buick Grand Nationals I've seen. Good luck guys.
That is unbelievable to find that car in that shape it's perfect plus everything stock is just unbelievable also and the miles on it wow u got one heck of a find there can't wait to see it done
Most of the car makers had issues with the paint during those years. They changed to a more environmentally friendly primer that the paint didn’t like to stick to. PS: Classic Industries has the Z20 kit.
I think your going to have a cool little project car. These cars are starting to go up in value. In a few years they are going to be worth a good amount especially a nice clean survivor like you got there.
Going the Black with Gold striping is good. I would actually suggest the "Traditional" spoiler and add the striping to it. I would also suggest that you paint the rims/covers black and add the Firebird Logo to them.
Awesome guys!!! Lookin forward to seeing the process! I have a 86 Camaro that I need to do the same to! Motor is built and in the car just need to finish interior and paint.
AWESOME PROJECT! I have an 85 Z28 with 93LT1, 94/95 4L60E, 01 SS Rear Diff, Aluminum Driveshaft, prostar K&N, 4th gen seats, 4th gen fuel tank, lots of other stock-alike upgrades. Whole car was stripped down to nothing but the interior because it was in great shape and it's not easy to find that in 3rd gen F-bodies, especially firebirds because the interior and styling of those cars was more specific and also generally more complex. It's my 3rd 3rd gen camaro, the end result of years of planning testing and research and easily my favorite car ever. I know just about everything there is to know about them and even went through the work of completely rewiring mine I recently decided that my next project was going to be a firebird of the same years and seeing another KY resident who loves these cars like I do is a very special feeling lol. Good luck and greetings from Lou'ville! If you ever need a hand or obscure question let me know!
Love the idea! Maybe do a couple things to help it breathe better and whatnot like intake/ exhaust, better fuel delivery things like that.... heck maybe make it bad ass and super charge it! Either way you got a sweet idea and I’ll be watching!
My first time driving was in a 70's trans am with the honeycomb rims. I was about 14 and a half. My now brother in law surprised me and tossed me the keys after leaving Walmart. It was dusk and on hilly country backroads kept telling me to go faster. Speedo only whent to 90 and it was pegged and whent well past that lol. Looking back wasn't the safest but was one oth the best times of my life.
@KentuckyKustoms sweet ride bros!!!! be nice to watch the build off for reals! thanks for the vids dudes! :) alll 80's models had the paint oxidation and NO DASH CRACK OMG!!!!
I've been watching Kentucky ballistics for awhile now, I came across this channel a few months ago you have something great going here with both channels especially with your dad incorporated into Kentucky customs i really enjoy both of your channels and look forward to every new one that comes out, glad you are doing better and fully recovered.
Dude I have to state the obvious. Scott Sr. Looks like Arnold man!! Dudes got tree trunk biceps!! Lol Keep up the awesome work guys!! Your channels, both, are awesome!! Great vibes always.
My dream car is the 1977 black special edition. I actually bought a brand new black 1996 TA. It reminded me of the Batmobile. And before that I bought a used 1978 Firebird. The guy I bought it from had the engine all over his front yard lol. But the K. I. T. T generation of TAs were really gr8. Gr8 vid as usual. 🚗🇺🇸

What do you think about the new car??? We hope you enjoyed the video and thanks for watching!
Kitt from knight rider 😳
Its cool, for a chev product, I think a tweaked aspen r/t would be more cool though.
Dooooood!
Mount a couple mini guns etc and make it a mad max car.
My First car was a 86 TA now 25yrs later on my forth TA. Love those F bodies. Have a good one
