It's winter here now, maybe not the best time to travel overbroad! The road to the centre is a long dry road trip to nowhere, so glad you stopped! Adelaide is really nice! You did the Gold Coast before, it's just like Florida most of the time! The Hinterland is mostly forest and larger private properties! Darwin is a miserable place! Greg Jameson is living in Tropical Cairns right now! 😉 The Bungie Bungles are in WA, and many Indonesians! Definitely do Port Arthur Penitentiary, it's a convict prison in incredible beauty! 👍

Hinterland is not a particular location. It refers to an area behind a particular place usually on a coast. So pick any place on any coast and the area just Inland from that place is it's hinterland.
When you are looking at Australia best to stick to the coastline where the map is green if you want to see populated places.

I'd love it if you did my area Glenmore Park Sydney NSW and 10 mins away is Penrith, look for Penrith Panthers Bluebet stadium :) that's an idea google the NRL teams home stadiums. My area is so weird.....it's like a maze. It's modern one side and older the next. The older side is near Mulgoa road where I am. Oh and see Penrith Panthers leagues club.
