I've been needing that info for a long time. I need a ditionary on how to fix mistakes. If there's a mistake to be made, I made it. Thus I went to knitting looms.

Oh man, sweet. I am a beginner working on a circular knit project: A raglan sweater for my teddy bear. I messed up on the increases but the neckline is perfect. I think this will save me from having to do the ribbing on the neck all over again 😁 perfect!

Great tips. One thing to point out is the reason for using a cotton thread is that the fibers won’t get twisted or integrated into the stitch. A wool lifeline has lots of fibers that will if you’re not extra careful twist themselves into your project yarn. It can be very frustrating, especially if you are working a small needles (like for socks) where the stitches are already small. If you don’t have cotton yarn, use dental floss, especially a brand like Glide, which is very smooth. I double the dental floss.
My favorite tip is to use a smaller circular needle, that seems to be the best solution of all. Thanks so much for sharing this.❤

thank you for these important tips. I am a beginner and am teaching myself how to knit brioche and needed a way to keep track of those pesky rows as I move along. I won't have to start all over from the beginning-just to the row before my "oops!" occurred. This is going to be an addition to all my future projects.

Marly, Thank you! I watched this video a few days ago and thought what a great idea using circular needles for a life line. I thought to myself that I needed to remember this. Well today I needed to use your idea. I have been working the back of my 1st sweater and found a a big mistake and couldn’t figure out how to fix it. I use your life line idea and it worked beautifully. I am so happy that I was able to fix my sweater. I have learned so much knitting this with you. My biggest projects prior was a hat, scarf and dishcloths. This project is over the top for me. You’re an awesome teacher! 😊❤️

Amaaazing!! Yay! I was excited just the first time I heard about lifelines at all, but then to find out that I could put one in after the fact, after I've already discovered a problem, I had wondered about that, but didn't know enough about knitting and reading my knitting to think about how to go about it, but it's so simple! You make it so. Thank you very much, so happy to find this channel.

Omgosh I so wish I had known about this last night😩 I’m currently working on the SW MKAL and was 2/3 of the way thru Clue 2 when I realized I had messed up a section. I tried to undo it back to just before the mistake but couldn’t get my live stitches back on the needle. Ended up having to rip back all the way to the beginning on the clue and start over😢this knitting hack would have saved me from losing 3 days of work lol

Use interchangeables that have a little hole for the tool that tightens them and pull a fine thread through this hole. It will get pulled through as you go! 2. ADDI sells something called SOS-cords. They have a small gap where you can put a strand of yarn in. Many greetings from Germany!

I just did my first lifeline using the circular needle. I wish I'd had it before the major frogging but just learned about them. If you have stitch markers, like on either side of the spine of a shawl, should you put them on the lifeline as well as a "just in case"?

Also the fact that you added the detail that the size of the stitch only matters when it's moving to the new working needle on the right. That's the kind of detail that sometimes teachers forget to add, people know so much, for so long, forgetting how much you didn't know before you knew.
