Thanks for the nice review. I love mine and will get another one. I also have other hp equipment from that time. They just exhale quality from a different time. Everything is so much more complex and unrepairable nowadays.. well there is some hp unobtainium, too.
These were serious lab grade instruments that cost $995 back in 1986 - over $2700 today adjusted for inflation. Forty years on these are going strong. I also have several HP power supplies from that time - same build quality and a joy to use.
Yes I agree, I once had a bench-top DMM from Keithly, after several years the LCD display was no longer readable, now I again have a bench-top DMM from Keithly with VFD and has functioned for years without any problem.

I would as well. I have a Leader Frequency counter with a VFD, which is a joy to look at. :)
