We are currently boondocking it in a fifth wheel in the middle of the woods. It's not our land, but it's a step in the right direction. We've been here for 1.5 years, trying desperately to scrape money together to buy property. This is our second year gardening, I am doing a garden share at two different locations and learning tons about what choices we will want to make when we do get onto our own land. Just trying anything we can do get to the next step. Thank you so much for this video! I really appreciate it.

Hey Danielle! We just bought 40 acres in East Texas 3 months ago... to help you out by giving real world examples, we had to come out of pocket 22 thousand dollars for this 40 raw acres. There is no home at all on it, never has been, its RAW land but has electricity to a pole and meter... that's it lol. But yeah, 22K down on 40 acres with no structures on it.. if it had a house, it would have been quite a bit more to Close.. insurance, mortgage stuff for the house, taxes would've been higher.. right now, its 48 bucks a year taxs on this raw land 🤣 WE'RE LOVIN' IT!!

We're 5th wheeling it too but with a teen girl! We're at a park for $550/mo while we are looking for land as I need internet for work & teen in HS (for now). Currently, i just have a potted mini garden, but started practicing in the yard of the house we recently sold.

@@royaltm3420 I work in I.T. myself, and since the panny i only accept work that's fully Remote (since its never mattered where I sit.. I've always helped people who mostly were not in the same building or state or even country I am in) So, it DID take a year on a waiting list, but I had to get Starlink internet. We ordered it before we even sold our original Suburban Homestead to go find our new land. It would seem that its my only real option anyway, but I've been using it for work for over 9 months and its worked great the whole time, even with THREE Teen and young adult gamers all doing their thing at the same time. I can still remote control a computer in South Korea while chatting them on a Teams call and don't have issues too much.
Hope you find what you're looking for! We did, but it took awhile and it didn't look how we envisioned exactly either... gotta be open minded. Ours turned out better than we hoped, here's to hoping you have the same luck!

You gays are a miracle and definitely give me hope great hope and insight. I’m done with this high stress living and I’m an 8 year veteran with high stress and depression from all Ive endured as an active service member. Me and my partner plan to make this move within the next year or two because we think this would be good for our souls and we just want to spend more time together doing things that matter. Both have tragic loss in our lives so time is valuable. What’s a better way to get to our roots and live a more happier, healthier and debt free lifestyle. Thanks for the channel.

Good idea. Basics could differ for every one's needs. I grew up on a fruit and vegi farm. My parents also grew their own meat live stock. The last farm we had, was a diary farm. Again my parents grew al our own food. It was super hard to learn to adapt to town living after they have sold our farm to start up a general store in town. Growing your own food is only one step to having and building your own farm. You wil also need some good building skills. To build and renovate buildings on your farm. Also how to build your animal pens, ponds and watering systimes. Get your basic plumbing and ellectrical scills in order. Deside what kind of fruit and vegi garden stile you are going to practice. Then learn and practice al your new skills in your town garden first. Learn al the preserving skills you could find. Learn how to make butter, cheese and yogurts. Learn how to process your own life stock in to meat products. To watch video's is always a good idea, but you wil have to practise al your new learned skills before you head out to buy a farm.

I was quite confident with the progress I have made up to this point. The list showed I am almost half way there. Slowly paying off debt and looking for land with a realtor now.
I am so excited for the rest of the list, yall just have no idea, bursting with passion 😍
I knew about the worms. I have been so fixated on debt, land, growing a garden to where I didnt think "Hey! START worms NOW"
I initally planned to start chickens and meat rabbits. Well it was a blessing in disguise for now with feed costs and heat. I wish I would have thought to start worms earlier this year at the time I made the decision to hold off on chickens 🐥 & rabbits 🐰. I was so bummed about having to hold off on that and focused on making progress in other areas to where worms didnt cross my mind.
