So did it all fit? Would have loved to see how you got it in the bear canister. What size bear can? I’m preparing for an AT Thru hike and looking for a bear can to use.

protein added foods can wreak havoc on bowel movements if not used to it. Not sure i would recommend someone do this without being used to the food first. Also, yellowbird siracha all the way. Try it!

Sounds like you need a larger bear canister

Yeah, I carried my BV500 for the entire Colorado Trail this year and you can put like 8-9 days of food into it if you really cram it in....

Yay for real food! I did 3 nights, 4 days on Salt Creek in Canyonlands NP in May. I put 4 days of food in a Bear Vault 425, and I could have added another day if needed. Reducing volume really helped me on both the Uinta Highline Trail and Ruby Crest Trail by moving all the freeze dried food to boil in bag ziplocks, and repackaging all the processed foods. Using caloric density honestly cuts down how much food you need to pack. I’m a habitual overpacker in the food department. I’ll try the Buffalo Chicken! Sounds tasty! I too pack Sriracha or Elijah’s Xtreme hot sauce!
Trader Joe’s Instant Coffee w/ cream and sugar is pretty good. I’ll have to try the Alpine Start. ☕️

Did it all fit in the canister??? You never showed us! Also, when doing mountain hiking shouldn't you be eating at least 4500 calories per day???

I laugh when people are so worried about the macros. Or that there's "a lot of room for error" geez your going for 4 days. You could literally eat nothing and be just fine. Actually looking at you and your brother. You would prolly be better off.
