I bought my Tribute in 2020. I fell in love with the feel of the neck and the satin finish, and the fretwork on mine was the best I have ever seen from Gibson. I didn't care for the 490 pickups, so I removed them and sold them, then removed the PCB board and rewired the entire guitar with quality electronics and a 50s wiring style. Threw in a DiMarzio 36th Anniversary PAF in the neck, and a DiMarzio AT in the bridge. And added locking Grover Rotomatic tuners. It became my #1 player. Best of all, I got mine brand new but as a "demo" model for $879! Get one quick before their gone!
Thanks for such an honest review. I’ve owned a 69 Custom that I bought new in 1970 and am passing on to my son. I will probably replace it with a Tribute, since it’s only for playing at home. I’m long past the snob days and don’t really give a shit about what anyone else thinks.
These tributes are no joke, they are fantastic, especially for the money. In my opinion way better than a studio. I bought a 2022 tobacco burst and has become my favorite.thinking about throwing some pearly gates in it.
It had a great feature set, that's for sure! I would have preferred Non-Weight Relieved, but, that's just personal preference. It's a shame that they discontinued it and amalgamated it with the Studio to create the Modern Studio. Cheers -Ryan
Gibson uses Coil Tapping (not on the tribute, though). Epiphone actually uses coil split. In all honesty I don’t even remember mentioning push pulls in this video. Maybe I mentioned that the studio has push pulls? Cheers -Ryan
Gibson, I had both until the Epiphone was stolen. A friend has the tribute and it felt and sounded great. My Gibson is a Les Paul custom SG three pickups gold hardware. I'm thinking about getting a tribute myself.
Guys grab this guitar while you can because gibson realize this baby is too much for the market at that price point. Nice playing brother!

The guitars are always cool to see but at this point I'm watching your videos for the music.
I just bought a 2018 old, new stock honey burst. Can't wait till it gets here!

I love these riffs man. And the leads are great too
Really good review!
I want one
I just managed a 2013 gibson les paul traditional pro II in merlot for 1300 bucks on reverb it's an amazing guitar and was a good price to me
My favourite features of this guitar are the satin finish, the maple neck and the chambered body. To my ears, the 490 pickups are great.

Coil tap or split?

This one or the epi greeny?😅
Neither.
