I think this is one of the older 3-3-3 layout 77W: truly a gem besides the IFE. Well-padded seats and good legroom: if you are willing to pay a tiny bit of extra (standard front row seat) you might score an unexpected aisle seat in the last row of the mini cabin that is only 2-3-2. Brings lots of good memories: used to shuttle across Pacific with this one at least three round trips per year.
@@StevenYLol good memories ey! The seats were unexpectedly comfy, I agree. I would not really love to try the newer 3-4-3 configured ones but I’ll be on an a350 in premium economy next march. Let’s see how this is!
@@walkwithjonas7920 their A350 PE is very good compared to PEs in other aircrafts (their PE on A330, B787 and B747-8 are basically just econ seats with extra legroom). Not as good as Cathay (best PE in the world) but definitely worth the price :)
If you travel from Shanghai Pu Dong to Frankfurt you’ll likely have a better experience. Their A350-900XWB is more comfortable and have a better IFE system (well at least, the touch screen actually works) It’s shocking to see plenty of legroom on air china’s low density 77W. I flew on their 392 seat 77W and omg you literally have no space.
Hi Jo, thanks for your detailed opinions on Air China! I am Chinese and I fly Air China very often. I have also flown on this exact route several months before, and I quite echo your thoughts. The cabin is dated but the seats are wide, spacious and well padded. IFE is a letdown. Food was OK, and service is nice. Again considering that Air China often offers very cheap fares, I would say that Air China is a good choice.
@@yilunjin8705 I agree, thanks for the comment! I will be flying air China again in march on their a350 in premium eco. Let’s see how this will be like! 到时候我也会上传一个新的视频! :)
Air China is a reasonable carrier. Compared to Singapore Airlines, Cathay Pacific and Air France, it falls short. Compared to Scandinavian Airlines, British Airways, Lufthansa and United Airlines, I'd say Air China holds an edge. The crew are polite, the food is not too bad, flights are reasonably punctual and seats are comfortable enough. I fly with them somewhat regularly because their fares to Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, etc. tend to be very reasonable and their flight times are fairly convenient. I've never really had an issue with them. One weakness that they do have is that they're not really mature as a major global carrier. Their website is cumbersome, their IFE is disappointing, etc. These are only small details, of course, but it's something that Air France, Japan Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Singapore Airlines and KLM get right. It also sometimes seemed as if the crew were not as prepared as they could have been. They, in theory, spoke English well. The problem is that they struggled to understand British passengers, even those with the most neutral of accents. As these were UK-China/China-UK flights, you'd think that they would have understand 'water'.
@@duaneowens7777 the food was a solid 7/10 I’d say, on the flight from Frankfurt to Beijing even slightly better. We had checked baggage and there was no problem with it! We also had connecting flights. So all in all a good experience.
You get to fly over Russian airspace. A rare treat. Denial in retaliation to sanctions has lead many Western airlines to cancel routes now going around has made it unprofitable.
Quite honestly it was better than expected - the whole journey consisting of 4 flights. For me the IFE is not important so if that is something you enjoy on flights then CA is not for you! 😂the rest was fine! Also quite important for me was that there was plenty of legroom for an economy seat 💺
Air China is not bad at all. The food is decent, service is good, flights tend to be punctual. Compared to, say, Scandinavian Airlines, United Airlines, British Airways or Lufthansa, I'd say Air China has an edge.
Well, probably the food are great, unfortunately the presentation.. I don't think that the airchina ( the worst one amang th Chinese airlines) never care about it, o ever think about how to improve their service, the interior design, the chiara ( all are so so so so so dated). Since from now on there will be more and more international passenger will fly with airchina ( few choices remain since many European air companies had reduced o canceled their routes to China due to the reason of ucrnian war, it could be a good chance for air china to learn and to improve all their quality of service... But since air China is a state owned company I don't think this will be much improvement, and they just don't know what is design, lack of good taste, the combiation of design, the colors are so so so so suck!
@@studiocinese138 it is probably a result of lacking competition. I also heard in China for each specific route there is only one of the big three (southern, eastern, CA) allowed to serve it.
