I remember back in 1971, I saw him perform at a little music venue in Bexley in South East London, called the Black Prince. I remember him being carried over the audience, in a coffin to the stage, when he started singing inside the coffin. On that night, he actually pulled me up onto the stage, and we attempted to sing a duet. Such good times.

Lord Sutch is one of the very, very few people I always wanted to see live but never got to do so. He was an awesome show man and, really, a great business man as well. RIP, good Sir!

I remember seeing lord Sutch when i was very young...i am 79 now, i saw him at Hounslow swimming baths that they used to board over to do shows... he came on the stage in a coffin ..and jumped out and frightened every body and the music was so loud everthing was shaking and it blasted your ear drums...ive never heard or seen anything like it since...i think it was the end of the 50s.

I too remember that act at Cromer Links, you knew it would be outrageous everytime he did a show...

As a kid I had great admiration for Screaming Lord Sutch and his legacy will always live on which there are positives that have come out of his untimely death!

superb, i recall this from that excellent mark lamaar narrated show juke box heroes, sutch was a real innovator, a precursor of punk(weren't most great moments of rock n roll?) a huge influence though it's sad that he seems to be largely forgotten now apart from those genuine enthusiasts who don't just go along with all the fashionable and well known stuff

@@graemekornicki6810 one tale not mentioned is that he was chased by a group of women offstage when he did his Jack the Ripper act in Yorkshire during the period before Peter Sutcliffe (Yorkshire Ripper) was caught. They were not amused ! 😮

A very very long time before Papa Emeritus IV (Ghost singer), a real pioneer in shock rock indeed.

I thought he was wonderful, such a character. I was truly shocked at his death. I miss his humour and incredible humility. RIP Lord Sutch.

I own the 2 SLS books and have most of the records. That isn't alot considering his 1st album was in 1970. I wish " Election Fever"/ " Rock the Election would be released on CD- I still can't find it! One things for sure- he had alot of important musician friends playing on the records. Fun Fact - Jackie Lynton covered the Beatles" Little Child" back in 1964 which Jimmy Page played on. Nice documentary!!! RIP also to Carlo Little

What a shame i never heard of him. 60 years old, listening to child in time from the album made in japan, reading a wiki article about Ritchie Blackmore, wondering who is behind this name "screaming .."

Screamin Lord Sutch was Britain's answer to USA's Screamin Jay Hawkins.

May be he was taken from us like so many trying to tell the truth, at a point in his life probably one of the happiest to come, i don't think it was suicide, like other artists who sing anti war songs and people start to listen, and less people join the army, they have to get rid of them.
