😂 you know I didn’t look at it that way, but come to think of it when the QV was revealed in 2016 I put a picture of it on my PC desktop and boy did it serve as great motivation to do well 💯💪🏼
Im absolutely in love with the car!! I only have the ti trim, but I still have fun. I can't wait to get my hands on the qv. The expenses aren't bad at all. It's totally worth it!
Love your videos. Have watched pretty much all of them in anticipation of my Giulia QV coming in next month! Been on my list for years and I figured I should grab one while I can with production stopping this year! Thanks for the awesome content!
@@Food_n_Driver365 I don't know if the original commenter has one...but I do and I definitely don't exceed 5k miles between oil changes. Couple of reasons why...First, I think the recommended 10k is high for any car, especially a high performance one where higher oil temps can be achieved through hard driving. Second, the QV engines tend to see higher than typical fuel levels in the oil. This is confirmed by both my and other owners oil sample analysis. Higher fuel content in the oil reduces the effective viscosity of the oil. Given that QV's run 0w-40 for early cars or 5w-40 for later ones, the oil viscosity is low to begin with. I worry about long term wear to bearings if the car is used hard, fuel content is high and higher mileage oil change intervals are the norm. Your mileage may vary, pun intended...
@@A71205Thanks for your feedback 🙏🏼 You bring up good points and I’ll consider changing it earlier. If I have been driving more aggressively whether on the road or on the track I normally get it done early… but maybe not early enough. I’ll consider getting my oil examined as well. I am very curious now.
@@Food_n_Driver365ask any good mechanic. No oil, synthetic or not, lasts more than 6k miles in good condition. If you want to keep the car, you should do it more often to avoid excessive wear in the engine.
That is about in line with what it should cost especially with that mileage. Maybe a little on the low side. You can run the 5 year cost of ownership calculators out there that break out the service/maintenance to get a good idea and compare to other brands/makes. Lot of factors as well like which part of the country you live and whether you use a dealer versus an indy. Be nice to see what you actually had done, like belt service and sets of tires.
If you’re including tires as well then that’s cheap bc a set of tires for that car would be at least 2k and they would last 1-2yrs so you went through 2 sets of tires. Would be helpful to see what exactly was in your maintenance costs.
Thanks for watching. After I hit 100k miles I’m wondering if I should get a newer one as well, since they are stopping orders this year (I think it’s this month!).
I’ve been driving an F80 M3 for 8 years now but seriously thinking of getting a 2024 QV. Would you buy one all over again? Also, can you tell me the top 3 things you like and dislike about the car?
Wow that’s a long time! I would buy a QV again 💯 Tough to choose top 3 but things I like: steering, aero technology, exhaust sound. Dislike: brakes (I heard it got better with later years), infotainment tech, dealership network (if you do all your service yourself this won’t be too big of an issue for you).
I presume you live in California. First of all, my condolences. Second, the cost of ownership for _any_ vehicle in your state will always be higher. Nevertheless, I appreciate your candor when discussing the reality of possessing such a unique vehicle. Alfa Romeo ownership always comes with a caveat. Unfortunately, some people either choose to omit this fact or they are blissfully unaware. Of course, YMMV. Stay classy my friend.
Thanks for watching 😂 This is true about California. Everything is more expensive. You speak truth about AR ownership, it will cost more as do many performance cars. The reality for me of course, I have to work smart to be able to afford it lol.
That is a fact for most if they spend the same effort on their careers then trying to learn (and sometimes break their cars) how to be a DIY parts replacer, they will be soooooooo far ahead.
I think I understand this comment lol and I agree. I simply want to be smarter with my time by treating it as an investment in myself to increase my potential in life 💯
So owning a QV has helped your career? Interesting and positive side effect!

Thank you so much for watching! You’re making a great decision 💯 Good luck!🍀
Change your oil more often (5000 miles)
Thank for the advice. Do you have a Giulia QV as well?

Blackstone Labs will send you sample vials to take to the dealership when you get your oil changed!
No more assembly line wine lunches? TBH, I spent >$2K per year in the last 5 years of owning a 300M 1999 vintage. Color me impressed!
Thanks for watching and for the comment! Wow was that car becoming more needy at the end?

Thanks for watching and for the feedback. I’ll consider providing a full picture of service when I decide to sell it. Maybe next year!
Is it true the 30,000 mile service is $3,000.00. Replacing a radiator and shock is not normal.

Thanks for watching and the comment. Perhaps I will do a follow up video to go more in depth. But yes, this includes 2 sets of new tires.
not bad at all for an early QV. Makes me want to get a newer one asap.

That's about how much I spend for my Evo fq440, and adding a stelvio Qv in a few months
Nice! Interesting combo 💪🏼

You won’t regret the change. I have a 2018 Stelvio qv. There is nothing like it.
Where do you go for service? I’m in Southern California too
Usually from Van Nuys Alfa Romeo.

just about. waiting for fuel pump to fail next :(
Well fingers crossed that doesn’t happen! 2 out of 4 of the cars I’ve owned have suffered this issue. Bad gas I guess…
Cheap. Just traded my r8 for an alfa. The r8 costed me between 15 thousand and 25 thousand a year lol
Holy cow that’s so much!? But why?
3 grand per year just for insurance in Europe...
I think that’s similar to what I’m paying here in the USA too.
Easily worth it
No way i said 9 grand haha
Nice! Great guess. What made you think of that number?
You sound and talk like john wilson😂
I had to look up who that is 😂 I say we have similar pacing and speaking but he has a different accent I think lol. Thanks for watching.
