I feel like every generation of med students has their "Prophet of Pedagogy"
in years past it was Goljan
    then came Jason Ryan
    then came Dr Sattar
    then came Andrew (sketchymicro)
    our generation... is Divine!!

3:02:57 according to the First Aid, phlebotomy is actually used for polycythemia vera. According to UWorld Q,ID 2883, Serial phlebotomy is the mainstay of treatment for PV; it creates a relative iron deficiency and reduces hematocrit levels to normal range.

Antibiotic treatment for salmonellosis prolongs fecal excretion of the pathogen. Therefore, it is only indicated for severe nontyphoidal Salmonella infections (e.g., in patients with systemic manifestations or ≥ 9 episodes of diarrhea per day, and those who require hospitalization).

1:54:20 : following information is from Amboss:
    Confirmation of diagnosis
Histopathological analysis of tissue biopsies is required to confirm the diagnosis of lung cancer; cytology may be confirmatory in select cases.
    Obtaining samples:
    Less invasive methods are preferred.
    Pulmonary lesions
    Central: bronchoscopy with transbronchial biopsy
Peripheral: needle aspiration guided by endobronchial ultrasound or CT
Pleural effusion: thoracocentesis with cytology of the effusion; pleural biopsy if cytology is negative
Metastasis to other organs (e.g., mediastinum, lymph nodes): percutaneous or surgical biopsy, bone marrow biopsy if there is suspected bone marrow infiltration
Lesions that cannot be accessed using less invasive techniques : mediastinoscopy, anterior mediastinotomy, or VATS
    Findings:
Confirms the diagnosis and identifies the SCLC or NSCLC subtype (e.g., adenocarcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, large cell carcinoma)

Absolutely amazing review, but i had a question regarding one of the concepts. You mention that AV fistulas present as pulsatile masses, yet uworld states that it's aneurysms that are more likely to present as pulsatile masses, while AV fistula would present with no mass and a continuous bruit. Seeing as the uworld chart is more recent, should we go with that on the exam? Thanks in advance!
