Ranking 2023 Films With Memes

2023 had quite a mixed year for cinema.
I'd say the peak was Christopher Nolan's 'Oppenheimer', the film that won god knows how many Oscars. Well-deserved, I reckon.
The year also had some hidden gems as well, such as 'Sisu', a Finnish film about an ex-soldier running into and then slaughtering a large group of Nazis in Lapland. That was really fun and quite therapeutic to watch.
Disney didn't have a great year. Pretty much their only real success during the year was 'GOTG Volume 3'. Apart from that, it was essentially one disappointment to the next.
Despite how absolutely brilliant 'Oppenheimer' is, my favourite film of 2023 was definitely 'Godzilla: Minus One'. It is literally the peak of Kaiju cinema, and arguably one of the best Godzilla films ever made. This one also became the first and only film in the Godzilla franchise to not only be nominated for, but also to win an Oscar. That was the one I was rooting for the most. Despite what people may generalise as a monster film, 'Minus One' takes it in a new direction and brings an engaging and heartfelt story that leaves us with a huge cliffhanger at the end. I cannot wait for Takashi Yamazaki's next Godzilla film.

Godzilla Minus One is one of the BEST movies of 2023

It is my absolute favourite film of the year. Oppenheimer was amazing but I didn't get the same sense of pleasure from watching it as I did from Godzilla
