I usually just use a diamond bur around the internal axial walls to expose fresh dentin. I also apply the bond beginning at the cavosurface margin (enamel) and then apply it apically down the walls to the oriface to reduce contamination of the bond. Great lessons!
Hi Dr. Nasseh, I am a fifth year dental university student from Hungary. I just want to say that your videos are extremely informative, your presentations with all the pictures and practical drawings really help the understanding. Please keep up your good work, I'm positive that not only students, but experienced dentists can also learn from your contents. Thank you for opening up my mind to your ways!
In Brazil some colleagues use coltosol as backfillmaterial for cover the gutta-percha and after the pulp chamber cleaning follwing the comopsite resin restoration.
Could you place a small amount of Glass ionomer over the orifices and then procede with your bonding technique? Even if you were using a ZOE cement? Or would the ZOE still affect your bond?
Unless you could apply the ZOE only in the canal and have non of it spill out over the furcal floor and the walls then you could do that. But if you could do that you likely either didn't apply enough ZOE inside the root canal or you are a better clinician than the rest of us! :) Just be very careful with the application of ZOE. You can possibly use a round bur and freshen up the tooth surface by removing a little. That should help remove the residual ZOE as well. Hope this helps.
+Saif Taji The idea is to melt GP 2mm above the orifice so you have material to condense over the orifice. Whatever means you use to melt the GP should not make a difference as long as you quickly condense it with a thick plugger.

That will definitely do it. All that's needed is to freshen up the surface a little and the bond and use a self etch, dual cure bonding agent. Cheers!

Wow. I missed this... from 7 years ago! I'm sure you're out practicing and doing great! Wishing you the best! :)
Love all your tips!!!!!!!

Is it necessary to put a post after hydraulic condensation of a grossly decayed teeth or the composite resin core material is enough?
Hi Dr. Nasseh, I do not have ultrasonics with me, any other way of cleaning the chamber of all the sealer? Thanks
Cotton Pellet and Water. Can also use a micro brush and water spray. Cheers!
hello Sir, what if we dont use heatdensation and cut by electric cutter, shud we still cut it 2,3mm above ???

Got it Sir. Thanx a lott
