    Your channel is awesome!! I have virtually no actual knowledge of how firearms work (I played that world of weapons disassembly game for a little bit) but it is super cool to see all the engineering and Jerry-rigging stuff 🤩👍

      @@MrWilk_Firearms hey man, I got question to ask, for which I need some help on.......
      I currently own a Desert Eagle chambered in .44 Magnum (solid Black) and I love taking it out to the shooting range every now-and-then. However, I have noticed that once every several shots, the gun would look like it won't cycle fully after firing, but before loading the next round. I have used both the recommended cartridges seen on the manual, as well as the Hornady XTP rounds (both of them 240-grain weight loads). So i'm not sure if it's an ammo issue, or the magazine issue that's talked about in the above video. So with that said, my question to you is this:
      "Which tools would one need to file down that little tab in the magazine, as well as how many rounds must be fired for the "broken into" issue to be resolved??

    New subscriber supporting my fellow content creators for the algorithm. Researching the desert eagle and Yoki's video brought me here.

    Interesting. I wonder if shaving off some material on the magazine would also fix the FTF issues that Garand Thumb was having on his Desert Eagle.

      I’m not familiar with that problem. I wish I could compare the mags

    • @gameragodzilla

      @@MrWilk_Firearms Garand Thumb was having FTFs for his gun, which surprised me as all the malfunctions I’ve ever had with the various Desert Eagles I’ve fired over the years were FTEs due to insufficiently powerful ammo or limpwristing or lax maintenance or all three. He did also mention that he thought the magazines were a potential issue, which makes me even more curious if your fix would solve the issue.
      I haven’t had any problems with my personal Desert Eagle yet, but I wonder if I should just get the modification of the tab done anyways just as a precaution.

    I just got a new .357 eagle and I noticed they're not the same magazines anymore. That little tab definitely doesn't drag nearly as much on the new mags.

    The Disappointing part about this gun is 30+ years and they haven't perfected it and knocked off 2lbs.

      Wouldn't it have a harsher kick back if they did? I know people don't exactly shoot Deagles because they are easy to shoot, but...

      The L5 and L6 versions with aluminum frames do knock off a pound or two.
      Though in those cases, they were more getting around “assault weapon” laws because the AWB defines an “assault pistol” as being over 50 oz. lol

      Magnum research has no reason to make them combat reliable when they know most people buying these guns only do so as a occasional range toy. However I believe the Israeli DE's were combat worthy. In my experience with the DE's, the IWI/IMI guns with properly functioning magazine run flawlessly. Not to mention the Israeli DE build quality was leaps and bounds better than Magnum research guns. The only times I've had issues with the Israeli guns was when I was using MR magazines. But like this video pointed out, a little modification will get them running smooth.

    My last two wouldn't load. Was like the spring was weak and wouldn't go up beyond two rounds worth. Guess it was probably that tab. I'll shave it down. Can't see anything physically wrong with the mag and it has been fired less than 70 rounds worth

    I just got a desert eagle in .44, and haven’t shot it yet. However I tried loading some .44 rounds in it and it won’t load them to full capacity. What happens is one round will come loose and when I take it out the others probably two or three get stuck. Is it that tab in the side causing problems? Any advice would be appreciated.

    • @MrWilk_Firearms
      @MrWilk_Firearms  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thats probably the issue. That tab causes a lot of drag.

  • @pearlmax

    The bolt rides over the last couple cases in mine, instead of pushing on the rim and chambering them. 44 mag. The angle of the follower is too steep and does not force the rim against the rear of the lips. It's not a defect, it's how it's built, makes no sense to me.

    • @clintsyska6485
      @clintsyska6485 ปีที่แล้ว

      Same on my 357, also you can yank a round upwards THROUGH the feed lips... Have you found any solution?

    • @pearlmax
      @pearlmax ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@clintsyska6485 My solution was to buy a ProMag. But it has problems of its own. It will cycle a full mag, but it's a tight fit, difficult to lock the mag, which will cause the slide fail to lock back on the last round. bending the front of the lips on the factory mag inward a bit should probably help, but I haven't done it.

    • @tangoprime
      @tangoprime 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’ve got the same issue with one factory 50ae mag out of a couple I just got - one’s tough to load and doesn’t drop free. Haven’t had a chance to shoot with that mag yet, but I’ll be pissed if one is out of spec for as much as they charge for these.

      I said to remove a little bit of material from that internal tab. Use a dremel, file, stone; whatever you want. Just remove some material to reduce drag inside the magazine body.
