Em went CRAZY on this track. By the way Knox, I don't know if you had this in your head when you were breaking this track down, but the bar about the Latter Day Saints goes even deeper... You better bring more men (Mormon) than the Latter Day Saints, because Latter Day Saints have a lot of people on their team (millions) and he is saying his competition better bring even more people to beat them. And a Mormon is a member of LSD. Then the lines about the fabricating at the beginning of the first is a shot at Joe Budden that had lines in one of his songs about coming from the same environment as Em. Also, the bar about the common sense is crazyyy deep and I salute you for knowing a lot about that. Common's third album is titled "One DAY it all makes sense". Common SENSE, I'm a dollar short and a DAY late. Em isn't human. Eminem also said A to the K in the first verse and compared his basal ganglia to an AK and "A to the K" is a song by Cypress Hill and the shouts them out in the second verse. By the way, Mr. AK is an alias of Dr. Dre, that he talks about in the first verse, too. Great breakdown though and nah, I don't know all of this by heart. I've looked it up on Genius. I just wanted to type it here because I cannot stop admiring this man's thought process... Damn.

The verse “I’m a monkey wrench, and I can also flunk detention, I love contentions” can also be read as “flunk the tension” as in what a monkey wrench does but also used as in being someone’s monkey wrench. Also monkey wrench as in the protests but also as in the song monkey wrench by foo fighters. This is probably one of Eminem’s most deep verses in terms of meanings and interpretations

There’s definitely some hidden gems on Revival. You should do Castle and Arose but they have to be done together, they’re basically one long song, you’ll understand when you listen.

On the "Monkeywrench I can Flunk detention" is a double cuz a monkey wrench flunks the tension/Detention of a car(more specifically the tires) and ties in with the front suspension line. A wonderful Mechanic/Car Scheme.

I don't get how anyone can hate on Revival. I actually love that album! It was a very personal look at Em and his struggles with his life and career. All art is subjective and as any artist knows you just can't please everyone. There are always going to be haters no matter how good you are or how great your music.
I know I'm late. but it's not bad because of the content, it's because the production on it so bad I can't listen to it.
You really should do Revival. A lot of people just like to throw blind hate on it, and I really want to hear it from a more analytical point of view.

Yo Knox, I noticed that you have trouble getting out the rhythmic sound of those faster schemes and triplets. It's a mechanical problem that I have a fix for.
For instance at 19:30 you try to mimic that flow by saying "duh duh duh duh" at the fast part. It comes out faster if you say "tuh tuh tuh tuh" instead.
It goes even faster if you say "tuh guh tuh guh" or even "tah kah tah kah".
Source: trumpet player for 30 years. Just try it, it'll help get those fast staccato rhythms to really pop and will even work with your writing if you keep it in mind.

Just to be clear, by the end of 2019 revival had sold more than 3 million units, so it has gone triple platinum not just gold.
that’s the worldwide sales, though. gold/platinum/diamond status are awarded by individual countries for album sales in those countries only. in the US it’s still only a gold album.
