God mannn!! His wheezing and cry “he’s a rat” Arthur was broken sooo broken. Why did Dutch turn his back on him😡. The worst thing a man can feel aside from lack of purpose is betrayal.
Hosea's death affected Dutch mentally. I don't blame it, if my first and best friend died like that I would go crazy too. But the actions of Dutch during chapter 6 is not justifiable.
Very true but it’s sad all them years of loyalty, friendship, trust and love thrown away. Arthur was already so hardened from everything he didn’t realize the pain until tuberculosis. It all hit him knowing he might die and all he fought for won’t make it. His journey in the end was such an honorable death. Fighting for those you love even though you have done terrible things. The quest for redemption it’s not all based on your completion of that journey but the choice to walk it. Sometimes you have to let go of the things you want the most even your dreams. To set things right and have even if it’s the smallest hope good will come from it. This game taught me so much about life I already knew but didn’t focus on. When Arthur said “I’m afraid” it hit me like a truck. A man who has lost much and been so cold but deep down has a good heart. He was wresting with a giant and it won time and time again.

Also if you choose to go back for the money, Arthur says a even more heartbreaking line. "Not molly, not Susan, not even Colm Dutch! Think!"
