Every song still hit my soul just as it did decades ago when I was a kid teenager just hoping off the porch into the family hustle game..I thank God and Pac for giving me the wisdom and street knowledge to survive all the madness and mayhem of S.Chicago.. From Hoodlum to Marriage Fatherhood is such a Blessing
As a 2pac fan myself, his music still resonates with what's going on in these modern days- If it was a such thing as Hip-hop bible, 2pac lyrics would be parts of those scriptures
When this album came out, cats were bumpin this shit front to back non stop. Every song was the shit, even the Can You Get Away joint. Every album from 2Pac came with a different energy to it and in turn each album was recieved with different energy. I would say Me Against The World was his most well recieved album overall. Im talking critically and people vibing with it, not hype or controversy.
If you listen, she is in an abusive relationship, and Pac wants her to get away, and he wants to love her and protect her. He wanted to be with her, but what was most important to him was that she not be with someone who was abusing her. Please do your research and listen to the song and pay attention to the lyrics before you judge. Pac wanted to be a voice for the voiceless, or a voice for those who cant speak for themselves, and I believe this song was not just about 1 woman, Pac wanted any woman who listens to the song to know that she deserves better than to be with someone who abuses her, and for her to know that abuse is not love. Did he go about it the wrong way, maybe, but his intentions were in the right place.
