    People in the comments need to relax. Act like they’ve never had a connection they struggled with before.

    Jeeezus Fu*ing Christ__ buncha rookie comments ! The smart comment is all mine.... ask an older iron worker about a couple of quickie bolts.... that's what we use to close a gap like that. Can't believe nobody else in the peanut gallery suggested quick bolt.... I must be officially old. Local 751

    @kensonparis4752 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    I would’ve gaped it low and walk it over from the top flange. Then come back from underneath the top flange to walk it back up using the crane. I’d be asking how much weight he’s got on it to ensure you don’t go past rigging capacity. You can always tell the operator how much weight you want him to take. I like to take 5-10% more then what the piece weighs. I know this vid is a year old and you probably learned some new tricks. I’m a tall guy so I like to get my legs locked in so I can lean over and use all my body weight on the pry. Trying to pry from between the legs is hard as you have limited movement. Either that or bring a come-along lol

      @mayneofsteel  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah man the thing I learned is to always have the right tools haha. Plus this day was just a shitty day. Every connection connected to the concrete was fucked. Idk why I didn’t think to ask for a come along🤦‍♂️ appreciate you watching and the advice though bro🙌🏽

      @@mayneofsteel yeah I hate making connections to concrete or cmu walls. They’re never straight or plumb and the rarely give you enough slot on the wall clips or imbeds are pored in shitty. I hear ya brother. Love the vids. You get down bro and love watching guys who ain’t afraid to do it all. What local you in?

  • @hotbox604
    @hotbox604 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I always keep a small wedge with me. Put it onto the top flange and get the hammer and start hitting the beam in. Pull the wedge and slap in a dewedag I always have a 3/4 and a 1/2 dage 10" long on my belt.
    And if all the beams are shit on that edge beam. Carry a 3/4 cumalong with you! Jezz!!

    Either slacken the beams behind you it that some work hammer a wedge in between the connection behind you and the beam you’re walking (obviously release the bolts on that fix) you did well getting it in but let yourself down not knowing how to align holes. In the UK where I work if you can’t get it you’re on your own 90% of the time. Learn how to use them tools n bring the right stuff for the job n I might be half decent. Well done for not giving up, btw do you guys tighten every fix straight away? If so leave 3 connections loose then go back after every 3rd connection. UK n I could still school you on the iron;) stay safe

      Next time use the pointy or spoon end of your bar and put it where the cope of the beam is and pry towards the clip. Or use a comealong and pull it fro. The next piece over. Or you can get a beater and beat that bitch over.
