As soon as you said you’re a fan of Scooby-Doo I instantly thought “you poor man, why do this to yourself?” I hope you watched all your favorite versions of Scooby after this because the animation, specifically in the panic attack/vision scenes, is the only good thing about this show.

@@stevenedwards8353 The people that missed Mystery Inc are hitting that up too.
Wait... Was their entire plan to get people to go back to watch the old shows?

Love and support your way! I personally prefer Mystery Incorporated. I also I am so sorry that you put yourself through this. I've seen someone endure all 10 episodes. It's not better on the other side, apparently.

Correction: you’ll be ok once it’s all over. Velma is the nightmare we don’t want on repeat. It sorta just becomes a daymare for most and/or some people.

To be honest your input on the show was way funnier to me than the show. I wanna see you watch the rest but that would be too much torture to handle 😅

Your video finally made me realize something about what exactly is going on with the “meta humour” in Mindy’s Velma.
When you and I talk about TV shows, we actually mention specific examples because we actually know what we’re talking about.
When people who hate tv and movies complain about them for political reason,s they generalise based on vague assumptions.
I still don’t know if Mindy is making fun of political activists like Dove who complain about things without knowing what they’re talking about, or she IS like dove. But either way, that’s what she’s doing.
She’s not doing meta humour, she’s MIMMICKING meta humour without knowing what meta humour is.

It doesn't get better. The band guy who got his leg cut off shows up later with his leg in perfect condition so don't worry about him.

Duncan Clark was an awesome Kingpin, may be RIP....gone too soon. I dont like race swap if doenst need it, but really, for alot of characters, you can race swap a character, and the character can still be the same as they woud been as their original race. If you took Velma, race swap everyone back, still keep everything that happens, the show would still be crap.

9:48 God this scene has some INCREDIBLE animation. A lot of this show does to be fair.
Unfortunately, animation alone cant make a show good

Thoughts from a single female millennial with 2 cats, family who is far away, and living life unfulfilled: The knowledge you whippersnappers are so aware of our -ahem- personalities is great, because you can take care of us when we’re old and having existential crises because we realized too late the world does not revolve around us.
Or maybe that’s just Mindy Kaling- the worst millennial spokesperson.

Great video and honestly i never really thought of the race swap as minorities being used as meat shields but it honestly makes sense. I was always thinking it was a way that they would try to get easy brownie points by race swapping characters.

^^Yeah... One minute seventeen seconds in and I'm thinking: This "waffling" manner you have going as you are commentating, is annoying. Change it. You sound like someone who is terrible at imitating Woody Allen and doesn't know they are terrible at it.
^^Know the character. That comes with research. You went over the iterations of the character except the most important (not surprising as it probably predates you; forgiveable) the FIRST iteration. Velma is white. And what I really dislike about the iterations you mention with the RL versions is that the studios _tried_ to make Velma _more_ sensual than her core character make up. She was _never_ meant to be "sexy." She was the bookworm. Daphne already had attractiveness covered in the group. But I'll bet dollars to donuts, those actresses argued to make Velma more "noticable." Velma was (always) a "thicc" nerd; you'd have to watch the original toon series to see that. Her allure was that hidden attractiveness was never focused upon. We all saw it, but the creators (rightfully so) never brought it up because Velma was Fred's Dr. Watson. Ms. Kaling missed that mark _by miles._ As she'd done with everything else about this show.
^^Get some other background music. What you ran is horrible.
^^Your cut clips are cool, no qualms there. And that thing you do with the entire frame when stressed or distressed is...not terrible.
^^It took a whole 5 minutes for your video to not be terrible. That will improve as you go. BUT yeah, I found myself having to "give it a chance" before following an urge to click away.
^^Your on-screen character is okay. Draw a few more positions to represent expressions and it should work for you.
^^And the stuff you pointed out was very original, or at least I didn't see any other creator, make notes like yours.
Hope this was helpful. Good luck!!!

Thanks for the suggestions! I will definitely take a lot of what you said into consideration. Though to clarify on the other iterations brought up, I was only bringing up the ones I could think of off the top of my head that were raced-swapped versions of Velma in the past, trying to highlight that this show wasn't the first time this has happened to the character. However, maybe my delivery wasn't clear enough, as I was tired and that portion of the video was unscripted. Maybe a script in the future would help, or maybe just jumping right into the reaction. Part of the intention of it was to be upfront with what I was thinking going into the show so I could lay out my cards on any biases I could be carrying, but I could definitely be a lot more succinct with it. Once again, thanks for the suggestions! I'm still a little new to this and am trying to find my unique voice, style and delivery. Constructive and brutally honest comments like this are very welcome.
