Wow, I'm late to the party, but I can only stan for the Hicks gaming. Sadly, I didn't know of the many indoors maps at the end and never trained Hicks' sword skill, so he was basically useless in the end, but he was my best ballistae baiter and one of my best units in outdoors maps. Even though with scrolls, units not reaching 20 in almost everything were kinda rare, tbh (except the units that die if a mouse looks at them the wrong way like Miranda and Olwen. Wanted to use them, but just going through Thracia was already hard enough with my skill level. I'm not THAT much of a masochist.)

Kaga is a genius. For example, he made 24x the worst map in existence so there'd be a real moral dilemma between rescuing Leif's mom or preserving your sanity. Brilliant.

@@CappnRob that's a ton of walking, with Shanan having to go from the top left to bottom right of the map, and Ares having to go into Darna if you wanna recruit the dancer. Even on a horse Ares will take at least 10 turns to get to Blume, and Shanan pretty much has to beeline for him if you wanna use him. At least Dermott is heading that way to talk to Nanna so you can get two Charm boosts.
@@ness6099 Blume is the literal last boss of the map by the time you can even fight him you’ve already moved most of your army past all of that.
