Awesome purchase. I saw a lot of interesting Roman antique items in the 30,-/ 50,- $ range like denarii, tetradrachms and also some Greek stuff, so it´s just a body count to get a realistic retail value out of this lot. Well done, Christian, keep it up ! 👍Greets from GER, U.
Thanks for sharing with us the opening of these coins ... excited to see some of these come to auction. I will be trying for a few of the silver coins.
I'm. A large collector of ancient coins and artifacts. You could get a lot of high quality ancient coins. Greek silver, ATG , crusader silver etc for . 5k. COA slabbed. Constantine bronze go for $2 .Most common ancient coin. Nabatean pa.crusader coins are very hot now
A nice, interesting lot with a few scarcer items. And nice condition for the most part. NB: for the counterstamped coins, the condition of the underlying coin is pretty irrelevant. It's the condition and rarity of the counterstamp that's important. Hope you show a profit on this!
Unclear. Versus $5K, would imagine that I'd land anywhere in the $4500-$7000 range, but the effort involved will likely be a bit much versus having focused on other items, if that makes sense
Did you read that half the commenters feel he was the one that was ripped off? You're obviously jealous of anyone getting a good deal, while at the same time ignorant of what a good deal actually is.
I’m not an ancient guy but I am beginning to touch that field.. a lot of these are very sharp with beautiful surfaces the ones that aren’t suspect. Just the volume of this buy I would think you did well. At least a couple thousand quick then a few if you’re willing to wait
YEAH as interesting as these are, to spend 5k is abit offsetting to me, as a coin guy for the last 8 years. I would WAY have rather put 5K into Different 90% silver & look for errors/varieties or purchased multiple Dansco books & pic the hidden gems. Or look through buckets at LCS's for picks. But I can see the allure behind Ancients, but with allure also comes the facade of the coin hobby which ancents have the worst. Opinionsof 20-50$ coins which most likely are worth half of that. And ancient buyers who are going to want to "greysheet" every purchase. Coins are tough haha. Great content man & keep working it!
You need to take your time man. Dont rush through them
I just started looking into buying ancient coins, but I’m so scared that I’m going to spend good money on fakes. Any advice?

I would like to buy lots like these for ancient coins. Where do you buy from

Very cool.
I would love to see them all put into a book in year order...
That would be sweet!

Great to know - had no idea on that front! It's a good learning lesson and hey.. always fun to unbox and sell coins!
i love me some ancients! Enjoy :)
What’s the estimated value of you breaking the coins down and selling them individually????

Nice variety. Some cool early Roman emperors. Hope you all at least break even on it!
I hope so too! Thanks BSH!
You ripped these People off. Taking advantage of a loved one's collection.
capitalism isn't a charity...seems like he took a risk, not knowing what was included
Does not justify ripping people off. That gives the hobby,/profession a bad name.
@@4doormas758 I think he got ripped off, those coins are all junk.
What a stupid comment....

Thank you! I think it's a good mix! Though may take a while and a lot of effort to do

I honestly think you overpaid to be honest. Alot of 10-15 dollar coins
That was my sense. Might make a few $ but won't be worth the effort.
