Barack and Michelle Obama endorsed Kamala Harris in less than a couple of weeks of her being nominated by Joe Biden. They wanted to make sure she received sufficient delegates’ support before issuing their endorsement. This gives Kamala extra momentum now.

Good point. It makes more sense to wait until the convention or the VP pick. Maybe he will endorse her at the convention. The argument that he is being careful because Obama is a former president doesnt hold weight. Clinton already endorsed in a joint statement with Hillary.
Why you guys are jumping the gun. Michelle Obama rang up Kamala to congratulate her when Barak chipped in to voice his support. Haris thanked both of them profusely.
