Back in the day, when nobody knew how to do it, he made me belive lock was cool to play. I restarted the lock I gave up at 50 and 10 lvls and 13ranks later I was crazy about it still. I stopped playing my rogue on witch I had managed to reach r14, but really burned out. Thanks Drake!

Conflag had a cast time? Death coil was a 10 minute CD and had no CC component? Wtf was going on with warlock in this patch. Early wow was beautiful but in retrospect so strange compared to the 1.12 patch we all know well
wo dude, in the fight vs the mage at 2:00 he was polymorphed at start, and if u looked how long the duration was he still had over 40 seconds on the polymorph. apparently back then CC lasted full duration in pvp to. oh wow, imagine the griefing mages must have done, just polymorph you forever.
Not true, it displayed the full duration yes, but players would only be cc'ed for 75 % of the actual duration displayed on the tooltip, and diminishing returns did accour, but it was class based, so you could in fact get warlock fear - fear - fear, then a full duration priest fear :p
How good were warlocks at the time (vanilla)? especially in PvP? I'd love to level one but people say wl was bad in PvP at vanilla times and I should play Mage? :/ thx!
They were weak early in vanilla, but classic is going to be based around patch 1.12 by which time they had been buffed and were quite strong. They scale well too, so with BWL+ gear they're monsters in PVP. Also very good during leveling/world pvp. They're a well rounded class and all three talent trees are viable in some for or another unlike most other classes during vanilla. It took me a while to decide, but I'll be playing a warlock as my main.

If u guys are wondering y sometimes he casted curse of elements and y sometimes he casted curse of shadows it was simply cuz it was 2005 and he didnt know shit. He was experimenting. He was sm/ruin in his first 2 videos so obviously curse of shadows was the go to choice since he was nuking instead of dotting (which is the wrong choice but it was 2004 so he didnt know better) He mixed it up in his destro videos and even curse swapped mid fight, but the fact is u should just be using elements most of the time. The global and mana to curse swap isnt worth doing so u gotta stick with one. And although buffing corruption sbolt and sburn is important, destro has 10% to fire talent and soulfire, immolate conflag, searing pain are just gonna be a bigger part of your overall dmg. There are exceptions where curse of shadows might be better is Succubus was killed and u need to get a fear off priests, pallys who have higher shadow resistance. Even if soulfire is on cd spamming searing pain in btw immolate conflag is going to be done alot more than sbolting.
Yeah, the joys of an "unsolved game". I definitely love classic and look forward to TBC, but hopefully there will come a time when we get some new unsolved content to experiment around with again like 2005

Fascinating how little skill this video showed....Ganking lowbies and undergeared people, some of which he was an absolute anticlass for (like those mages) spamming seduction, using engineering against them as well. I know who drakedog is and what he can do in his later videos, but I'm not sure what would happen if he played against someone better skilled or that had a decently geared character. Most of those had the blues from ubrs and t0....that one priest was practically naked..... but only thing ok with this video for me was the music choice since I like his taste in music.
Do you even realize when this video was made? The only raids in the game at this point were MC and Onyxia and very few players had done those yet. Everyone is wearing blues because... that was practically all there was. Drakedog is not wearing a single epic here either. The only non-60s in this video were accompanied by other 60s, in a time when there was significantly less power difference between a 55 and a 60.
There's no mystery there, drakedog is an excellent player without any doubt but there were better players than him for sure (I played Korean WoW). And it is true that the opponents in this vid are mostly people who were just levelling and leraning the game. He comes from Ultima online and world pvp is his "thing", so yeah, he's really just ganking n00bs here mostly. But his dedication to world pvp is also how he was able to make arguably the most entertaining series of world pvp videos in WoW. Laintime falls into the same category, all Koreans players from those days know how these two would spend like a dozen hours EVERYDAY going around and ganking people in world pvp. They prepared those healing melons and engineering and shit while most of their opponents probably didn't even know those existed. Laintime saw more success in arena than DD and goes against more skilled opponents (I was on his server so I know most of them) so I would say Laintime is definitely one of the best players (in Korea at least). As for Drakedog - pretty damn good, but not in the super elite tier in terms of raw skill.
+cerberusdest Being as Drakedog has been High Warlord and a Merciless Gladiator on multiple toons I would say that the man knows his business. Not to mention he has been a destro lock the entire time. I played from launch day through Cata and only those of us who did the same as he know how hard being a destro lock was for pvp for the bulk of WoW. Damn that was quite the run on sentence.
