I have seen this before frim you and made it. Excellent. Today I followed your instructions verbatim as I slowly pause and unpause the video . I now have 1/2 c sugar with 2 eggs. Arigatai ga oin da...
Amazing definitely going to try this out. Here in the Netherlands we also have a variantion of this "donut ball" called Oliebollen (translated= Oil balls) which is mainly sold during the winter holidays. But we add some raisins inside and top it off with some powder sugar on top.
Ooh I think I know how they taste because we here in Switzerland have similair "Fastnacht Schenkeli" often eaten in autumn or winter, since the medieval time (Fastnacht means the night before a time of 40 days of feasting, to remember the suffering of Jesus Christ. But today almost no one is feasting, but the treats have survived and most of them are simple wheat dough things and then deep fried) sooo delicious I love them and I will use your recipe next time :D
Right after watching I made a double batch and they turned out wonderful. If a donut hole and a hushpuppy had a baby it would be this slightly sweet dense little nugget. I ended up using AP flour and adding a dash (or two) of vanilla just because my eggs weren't really large enough to fully act as the wet binder....and also, I really love vanilla. ^_^ Thank you for the new recipe!
You both were so funny in this video! I've wanted to try sata andagi for years. I'll definitely have to make your recipe. Thanks for your delicious home cooking!
Hey japanese, as a javanese I'd like to inform you that we have similar dish in java, with extra sesame as the topping. In java we call it "ndas glundung" or "rolling head" in English (we have a traditional demon sharing the same name anyway 😁) , or many people in Indonesia simply call it "onde-onde" since it looks like the mochi type of onde2...
Hello Mr. Satoshi! I'm from Brazil, I found your channel when I was watching your interview with Carina Fragoso on TH-cam Space. I love this donuts and I will try on Sunday. Thank you!
This looks so scrumptious you guys, and thanks for making it (seem) easy to make...I was wondering could you and Satoshi please show us how to do the 2-layer Christmas poundcake in the japanese movie Little Forest? I believe it was featured in the Winter/Spring 2014 movie. Thanks for all the love and hard work you put into this channel, we really appreciate all that you do for us.
I am from Hawaii as well, and my mom used to make this for snack too! I think your recipe might be better (don't tell her!) and I am looking forward to trying it soon. Thank you!!
Looks super yummy! Fortunately I can get Andagis at Okinawan town, a few blocks from my place, but those andagis you guys make look much much better.さとしさんのダンス、いつも楽しみです。しんいちさんのダンスも期待しています。抹茶のカステラのレシピお願いします。
Oh wow!! I can’t believe that it’s been 3 weeks since the LA Meet-up. Time is truly flying by way too quickly! The sata andagi look amazing! I definitely want to try this recipe! Perhaps, I, too will do the brother Satoshi dance, to keep me from picking up my chopsticks, and poking and turning the andagi. I’ll also need to refrain from wanting to sprinkle them with powdered sugar, or dipping them into melted chocolate. ☺️. Thanks for another awesome video brothers! I say “yes” to the matcha castella! ❤️
Thank you for this. I have a lovely student in my Zumba class who brings me Okinawan donuts about once every month or 2. She is so sweet, & now I know how she makes them ;)
Looks like another good recipe. FYI if you make a large batch and you do not eat them all. my obachan would place the rest in the fridge and the next day she would place them in a toaster oven for 5 to 10 min to get the andagi crispy and dry again. You can put them on a baking sheet in a reg. pre heated oven. They'll taste great again.
so I was making it wrong, touching them while I was frying! Okay, now I got it! Satoshi , I like to taste the dough to check its sweetness. Thanks for the vid....
When I was in high school on Oahu. Our Japanese club would sell these during school fairs and activities. They also made fried noodles, spam Musubi and teriyaki beef sticks. Mmm those were the days...
Hi brothers thanks for your teaching in this Chanel. Please allow me to ask how much is 1cup cake flour and 1cup all purpose flour in grams? and did you used a third cup sugar? how much is that in grams? Plz help
LOL Satoshi rotating :) how is THAT NOT A MEME? Also, Shinichi, Satoshi, please don't be disappointed how the cooking episodes on TabiEats don't get as many views as it should! I know many Americans don't cook or can't cook very well, so....that could be part of the issue. I LOVE THESE, but I don't like donuts haha, so won't cook it, but will watch whatever you guys do. Looked great though
It was so wonderful to wake up to find your video today! The sata andagi look delicious. Do they ever mix anything into the batter? I bet black sesame would be delicious. It might be a bit difficult, but a spoonful of anko in the middle would also be yummy. Leave it to me to think of that. LOL. I loved Satoshi's dance interpretation of them cooking and smiling! Thanks for the great video! I send good wishes your way. :-)
I love Sata Andagi, always made them after the recipe from Cooking with Dog. Could you maybe also start giving the amount of ingredients in metrical units in addition to the imperial units?

I miss Okinawan donuts! Thanks for the recipe
Sata andagi like that scene in azumanga daioh ?!??!???!!!!
Mmm I love Okinawa donuts!
Those remind me of American Buttermilk Bars or Old Fashion Donuts.... which are my favorites!!!
My grandma's poi andagi is my favorite! Not as crispy on the outside, but more moist on the inside.
Mr. Satoshi's is a funny man. And he likes to do a nice dance.Very funny and nice too.
You both were so funny in this video! I've wanted to try sata andagi for years. I'll definitely have to make your recipe. Thanks for your delicious home cooking!

They look amazing! :D
Can't wait to try these! Is the dough for the coconut donuts the same? Those looked soooo good!
I believe it’s the same because they are rolled in coconut flakes at the end.
Thanks for the info and for replying! :-)
Yummy yummy yum.....try making with orange juice...it has a little tang to it....very well done.

Lucky number 8! Those looks ( I meant it) REALLY REALLY good! Im gonna try it one day! 😆 so funny that you turn.... pefect coordination hahaha
It's kind of like making a hush puppy. Different batter and all but the process of cooking them is alike.

Can we use pancake mix instead?
I would like to see many things made out of macha! I have macha powder at home but I don't really know what to do with it...
A great keeper recipe. Thanks for such an easy treat for my hungry guys. These are cake donuts, right? No milk?
Yes pls to the matcha castella cake
I have recipes for sata andagi that use brown sugar, are they authentic versions?
matcha castella! yesssssssss!! please Satoshi-san 😊
I love Sata Andagi, always made them after the recipe from Cooking with Dog.
Could you maybe also start giving the amount of ingredients in metrical units in addition to the imperial units?
Tried subbing stevia (truvia brand) for sugar didn't turn out well!
The chinese called it 'laughing sesame ball' because it is normally de put add some sesame seed and because it seems to smile.
Can i use regular flour or gotta be cake flour?
It will affect the texture but regular flour should be fine.
Satoshi you so funny! It made me laugh right out loud. :-)
Thumbs just for the intro raburabu!
I can hear Osaka saying sata andagi
