As a fan of Elvis and Michael Jackson, we can see what Michael Jackson was studying. If you take a look at Elvis’s arm movements, those sharp smooth movements you could see were Michael Jackson picked up much of his own performance from. Besides Elvis , he learned from Jackie Wilson and James Brown and Fred Astaire.
Elvis that was totally self-taught. That’s the crazy thing he really didn’t have a blueprint to follow. Elvis created so many dance moves and body movements and was the grand master of stage presentation

If you don't know Elvis here I'll describe him briefly, he was a Singer, Actor, dancer, guitarist pianist. He was called the King of Rock n roll. Every thing was his own pertaining to the singing style, hair style, dancing, Acting, dressing etc. He was a Rock star and Actor between 1953 till his death in 1977.He was the greatest recording artist of all time selling more than 1 billion music copi es till date!
His fellow artist Jackie Wilson was on the set. Elvis admired Jackie’s moves and used some of them in this number. I have read that Jackie is in the audience as this was filmed.

Remember, Elvis number one demographic was young people. That’s what made Elvis so different from every other musician in that era. In focusing on young people he was attractive to black Hispanic, white, Asian Indian, basically all youth. It was the older people that were uncomfortable with Elvis’s hip movements.
Elvis was no musician. A musician can read and write music, Elvis could not. Elvis was moulded and marketed to an all white American audience. grow up and stop the lies.

Hi Duane, many of the “clips”, like this one, are actually from his Elvis movies. He starred in 31 movies, with only 3 non musical ones. With an average of 10-12 songs per movie, that’s a lot of video clips!

It is NOT! his music and they are NOT! his songs. The music was written by some one else as was the lyrics, all Elvis did was sing them.

Jane H commenting …. I used to listen to Elvis singing this virtually every day when I was a young teenager. The radio was always playing it, & I saw the movie too. Elvis’ movies were so popular & his leading ladies were always so beautiful. I think that every girl who saw Elvis, fell madly in love with him, & no other boy/man would ever match up to him. He was just so incredibly gorgeous & the way his body moved was so sensual. He was so super cool too. I’m in my seventies now & I’m so glad that I got to be alive when this beautiful man was alive. I can't tell you how much i love and miss him, there is not a day that goes by that i don't think of him and all the memories we made in 10 short years, his death knocked the wind out of me i have never been the same since, Elvis was the big brother i never had. He is also my guardian angel. Graceland is my go to place when it get's to hard to live w/o my friend i go there and walk around and remember Elvis and all the beautiful times we had together. He was the only person in my life that understood me and cared about my feelings and opinions. What it comes down to is we both needed a true friend and we were that for each other. Awesome reaction. Presley and rock established themselves in the mid 50s; a time of sexual repressiveness. The new music stirred up the growing teenage population and their parents were not ready.
