There used to ne a bowling alley at the end that turned into a mivie theater. Saw "The Way We Were" in '73 there. The business building on the North end used to have JoAnn fabrics for about 45 yesrs. In the midfke of the shopping center was a bar called the Mahogany Room - very popular.
Frank, love your channel and love the updates on the changes going on in Bing! Keep them coming and if you could do more future videos on the North Side I would love to see them!!
You forgot the leather repair shop. The billiards place is abandoned too, my ex used to take me there on dates in high school. I wanna say that the movie theater closed in 1999 and the little consignment shop is run by my co workers daughter in law.
My mom, grandmother, brother and I spent way too many hours at the coffee shop in Grants. We would sit there for hours and drink coffee. My brother always got the all-you-can-eat pancakes. Many wonderful memories there.
It wasn't a grocery store, it was W T.Grants, then K-Mart. When Grand Union closed, K-Mart moved there since it was larger. I worked at Grants in '73, 74.
I like the your videos I grew up there but moved away so it is cool to see it have you ever done any videos on Way Street 14 way street was my first apartment I live there for like 5 years it was a little crazy back then and always wondered if it was still there
Ny pizzeria is one of the best around there.. its sad to see how abandoned it is and how run down theyve allowed it to get. I remember going there all the time as a kid. Going to the pet shop, kmart, dollar store etc... hopefully the city will fix the whole place up and put something there thats needed..
I use to live on that side of town. The first few years of my life I lived there then I moved back for 5 years and it was hard to get to the nearest grocery store without a car. I have fond memories of that neighborhood though.
Grand-Way before K-Mart. Grand Union next door, there was a doorway connecting the two. The Grand Union moved to the space formerly occupied by W.T. Grant's. NY Pizzeria is in the space that was originally DiLascia Bakery's second location.
It's really too bad there's nothing left there anymore. Living in Port Dickinson, that KMart location was convenient. New York Pizzeria is fantastic though, that's our go to pizza place. The grocery store was the Grand Union....
was a dump .incinerator was roughly where mcdonalds is.back years ago they burned trash.there is a huge cavern and underground river below the plaza that is why the parking lot is so bad it is sinking .before the big lots was torn down across the street there were large craters in the floor there alsoi
Grandway, Grants, Grand Union, Bowling Alley, Movie theater, Stagecoach Bar, Arthur Treachers...so many memories

You should do some filming on Sunday. The flea market is packed and the parking lot is full of cars!! Just not going on the right day.
I remember the old hardee's that was across the street from the plaza.

and the old grand union was the same flea market but there was so many leaks in the roof and other stuff that made it extremely unsafe

Is the bike track still out back?
Theres a skate park, park and walking trail behind this.
They are going to turn the K-Mart Plaza in Endicott into a shrimp farm! That Binghamton Plaza once had a movie theater in it, too.
Yes, I forgot to talk about it/add it to the video.
@@fgpalm Yeah, I remember seeing "The Empire Strikes Back" there when it came out. Funny how it was the "new" theater then.
This was the Stow Flats Dump until developers sprayed some dirt over it and called it a Shopping Center. It is constantly settling.

Was a manager at that Kmart from the late 70's to the early 80's.
