It is truly heartbreaking for me too because we all think our lives are not as beautiful as it should be, like a fairy tale. She can wish, and we know we can wish. But this song ends up with the wish not becoming true but giving up, hoping things are better tomorrow while you know that is hardly true. We have grown to much for being that much positive. So, between her wish and the reality, i see myself.
I loved how Giselle and Pip reunited again in this sequel. It’s a heartwarming moment for me. Pip is her animal friend since the very beginning. The song is very heart wrenching and emotional. You could see how Giselle changed from the first movie. She used to sang joyful and cheerful songs and now she sings such an emotional song. She wanted a true love’s kiss and happily ever after and now she’s wishing a fairytale life in real life world.
I watched this movie the other day. When I first heard this song I said "this has to be Alan Menken". I searched for it and ofc it was him. Only he can make these Disney-like songs so beautifully perfect.

They've improved in their use of autotune, so it's more subtle, but there is still unfortunately an electronic tinge to the song. Moments that I notice- "Princess wife" 0:43 "Found", 1:17 2:33-2:58 - there's many moments where there's a subtle blip at the beginning of the note/word. Timestamps- 2:33, 'and' through 'a knife', 2:50, 'songs of the flowers ring in the rain', and 2:58, 'all that is scary'. It's sad that Disney thinks they have to rely on autotune, when we have amazing musicians such as Amy Adams.

@@rahbeeuh thanks :) My hypothesis is that it's potentially more of a misuse of software, and as she gets higher in pitch the software gets more fidgety because it's closer to being a tone as opposed to the regular human voice. There is a way to use autotune to support as opposed to 'fix' a singer, and I think that that's what they maybe half-tried to do? But then they fell into their habits, perhaps got a little lazy and let the software do it's thing, which produced that wackiness. It may have also been the thing that Amy Adams is acting her whole heart and soul out, and her notes were just a little more emotional sounding, and that got picked up by a computer that thought the emotion was off pitch singing. Sorta lol. Also- it is in fact a bangin song! Even though it sucks that we don't get to experience it's true glory, it is still Amy Adams, and the music was written wonderfully. Personally, even though it's more obviously computerized in the second half, the music is written so beautifully that it is still a vibe, so don't stop enjoying it on account of a few mistakes yeet

while i do dislike how disenchanted does partially revert the character's development, its still great and amy adams, and Idena Menzel are so great, I feel that the music in this is better then enchanted

I never gave up believing in fairies and magic with all my heart because I still refuse to wake up, grow up, and forget all I knew in my childhood, especially fairy tales. My one and only wish is to keep the magic alive for all time. I take it after my late hero, Walt Disney, the true creator and bringer of imagination. Like Peter Pan, I hate getting old, which is terrible to look weak and ugly with saggy skin and a wrinkled face like a hag. Bleh! Never grow up! Yuck! I wish to be a fairy that stays strong, childlike, young, and beautiful forever and ever like Tinker Bell (Peter Pan) and the blue fairy (Pinocchio). I also wish to be in magical places where there are no rules, no schools, no responsibilities, no bossy and strict people, and no stupid grown-up stuff. But most of all, no growing up or growing old. I want my world to be full of fairy folks, little people, nature spirits, elementals, enchanted folks, immortal beings, mythic creatures, fabulous beasts, undead beings, and spirits. Amusement parks, libraries, festivals, castles, palaces, birthday parties, feasts, enchanted forests, and more. Sometimes I can see those things with my eyes and heart and sometimes in my dreams. while i do dislike how disenchanted does partially revert the character's development, its still great and amy adams, and Idena Menzel are so great, I feel that the music in this is better then enchanted
