I remember that sparkle I got in my eye when I saw the newest Pokemon game on the shelf or the excitement I felt when I finally got membership for the first time for Runescape; those are nostalgic feelings I'll never forget. But I haven't felt that feeling in years. A new video game hasn't interested me in such a long time. Whenever I see your long-plays. A little bit of that nostalgic feeling comes back and you make me excited about a video game again. My brother and I play Grim Dawn for a few months every year, choosing different builds every time. This looks like exactly the kinda game we'd enjoy, for something new, but familiar.
I'm 3 months late to this, but if fans of both, I also heavily recommend the Reign of Terror mod for Grim Dawn. Changes the entire game world into Diablo 2, adds in Diablo 2 classes and gear alongside classic GD classes and gear. Its loads of fun, especially in co-op.
I’m glad this game is getting more attention, a lot of games like these that take ALOT of time to polish and work on usually lose fans and anticipation.. glad the fan base has been secretly waiting 20 years for this puppy to release
Increased Potion Find can lead to some silly builds on its own. There are effects you can gain from drinking potions, even at full health. Potions drop from normal enemies on death, or from rares and bosses on hit as well as on death, so you essentially turn "Increased Chance to find Potions" into "Potion on hit against bosses". Just like other on-hits like poison or bleeding, more than 100% guarantees a potion to spawn, and has a chance to make a second or more. One of the potion effects is "Create two volatile zombies on drinking a potion." which does not go against your normal zombie cap, but carries over all effects of your volatile zombies from the skill tree. This both allows any class to summon zombies, and allows Acolytes to get tons of free zombies while always healing.

1:50:51 yo same here! i loved the beehive that let you have the plague as an aura. then you just drop that haunting souls skill on things and watch it eat the map. proliferation skills are by far my favorite and this game does a really solid job at it. it feels really good.
as someone closing in on a thousand hours in LE now, it really is a great start. Bit lacking in content, which is understandable for a game that just launched, and you can tell some classes have been around for a lot longer than others, a lot of the newer specs have a lot more interesting skills than the very first ones. Crafting is best in class.Legendary potential and the experimental affixes and glyphs of insight added so much depth to it. Strikes a very nice balance between letting you just put what you want on an ok item and letting you spend a lot of time crafting very specific chase items for your build.

I think I'll get this game come payday. I've been wanting to play one of these type of games for a while and haven't played anything like it since Diablo3 and even then I only played a little bit with a buddy of mine when he was looking for someone to play co-op with. Other than that, I haven't played anything like it since the original Diablo when I was a kid, so I think I'll really enjoy this game after watching a good amount of gameplay from it.
i am at 5:53:59 an Thor asks where the difficulty starts not to pull its punches, and i have to agree with Chat: that's gonna be Lagoon. Once you learn his mechanics it's easy, but only a misstep or two and you are dead.

They are about to add affinity to tabs, i.e. when you Shift+Right Click on an idol, it will go to a tab that has idol affinity.

The animations are much more pleasing to look at but it seems very similar to Diablo..
