It's criminal how underrated these guys are. I only discovered them a few months ago and am so glad I did.
Best voice around. I have had damp eyes on more than one occasion whilst listening to their music.

Overrated/underrated are concepts I'm having a hard time understanding and using myself, but I fully share your sentiment, Marko's voice is unbelievable and the band's entire discography is one of a kind!

@@neph.concerts I feel that for their amazing quality of their songs, depth of their lyrics and music, they should be more widely known. There are too many acts these days that are on the charts but can't sing or play an instrument to save their lives yet they are popular.
Poets tick all the boxes but are not well known.

@@simoncarter4956 @Simon Carter I do know what overrated/underrated mean, but I personally think those concepts are ultimately senseless.
Being popular is not an indicator or quality, being unpopular is not an indicator of a lack of quality. Hell, how do we define "quality" and "lack of quality" in the first place? What is good music and bad music, what's a talented and talentless artist is entirely, wholly, completely subjective. And a subjective opinion has simply no right to be claimed as a universal truth.
Also, how do we define "popular" and "unpopular"? Sure, someone with 18M views, millions of CDs sold and concerts in arenas is objectively more known than someone with 5M million views, a few thousand of CDs sold and concerts in small venues - but the small artist may be extremely well-known in their own niche genre. Either way, that small artist is simply uncomparable to the big one, and they're probably not even in the same music genre, so comparing them is meaningless.
Over/underrated also bears a notion of deserving, like, "this artist has more fans than they deserve". But who am I to claim what someone does and doesn't deserve, and on what parameters do I determine how much they deserve, and how much is not enough, how much is just right, how much is too much? How do I determine all of this, and what gives me the authority to do it?
I also do firmly believe that fame is not necessarily beneficial. I do believe that Poets playing in an arena would have much, much less charm than when they're playing in small, intimate venues. It's also difficult to remain totally independent when you're very famous, which would mean they would have to sign to a bigger label than their own, which would inevitably bring many limitations to their creative process. Many more fans also means much more drama between fans and between the fans and the band, and I certainly don't want any of it.
Overall, as long as an artist has enough fans to make their a living of their art, I think they have just the right number of fans. But even then, many artist don't make a living out of their art, and they don't necessarily mind. Being a tiny musician with a daytime job is extremely common and is not necessarily negative, unless the artist themselves say that they see it as negative.
I truly fail to see the point of having millions of fans. What matters to me is the personal experiences that individuals have with the artist. Amongst those millions of fans, how many truly care about the art, how many are truly, genuinely touched by the art, and how many listen to it out of a sense of social duty, precisely because it's popular?
Wishing to an artist to be more popular or less popular, or claiming that an artist is more or less popular than they deserve, makes no sense to me. The only reason I can think of to wish that Poets are more known is because I would like people to experience my passion, to discover how incredible their music is, but it's a wish for other people, not for them as a band. Wishing for Poets (or anyone else) to be more popular or less popular just for the sake of it, or out of some popularity competition, feels totally senseless to me. I see too many subjective elements and variables for the concepts of under/overrated to make any logical sense and be of any value.
Just in case, I'm not being confrontational or anything, you are absolutely entitled to have your own opinion, if not, in this case, your own system of thought. I'm just rambling and sharing my own experience on the subject :)

Please check out their other tracks. There are so many brilliant songs its difficult to chose a few. Search for "Alexander Theatre Sessions" That will give you a good taste of their songs. The 'Sessions' is an unplugged album where you get to hear his voice properly as well as the great guitar/piano playing.
