i didnt like Damon from the start and still dont. But marcel aint Damon so please stop comparing. but on the other hand comparing to Klaus Damon is better any day cause he learned to hold others lives important too and not just his brother and girlfriends. He actually started to think about others too that werent his own family. marcel might have gone crazy with power at one point but in no way did he even think of giving his brother up for power like Klaus did. He didnt go at an extension to threaten a teenage child for her power. He cared about kids that werent his own unlike Klaus who ordered hopes death when he heard of her existance. He held pain after pain, embarresment after embarresment from the mikealsons who treated him like a slave dog, who bad mouthed him to the martels. he took all that in just cause at one point Klaus showed a teeny tiny amount of love towards him. He just wanted to be accepted. But they did nothing but kill his adopted daughter and then kill him. The hell did they expect?

I love how Marcel acknowledges his insecurities too, how despite everything he did to them, he still wants to be a Mikaelson and to have Rebekah’s love, 2 things he always believed himself to not be worthy of and 2 things he will always have, because he is a member of that family and Rebekah does love him. And Klaus acknowledging his insecurities, how he didn’t think Marcel wasn’t worthy of Rebekah or his family but that he was just scared of losing them both, along with apologizing is amazing
That's all Marcellus really wanted. he wanted Klaus to apologise for not being a good father. He never hated Klaus he was just angry at not Klaus for not making him feel loved. But what he didn't know was that Klaus knew this he just didn't have the courage to tell him till now.

The way the originals show ended made me cry...how touching and emotional people became...the guilt, the regret....the forgiveness,the shame..

Anyone else notice how this scene begins with him staring at Cami’s grave? It reads, “Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things. Love never ends.” - 1 Corinthians 13:7. It’s almost a foreshadowing that his love for his daughter would carry him through his sacrifice, and because of meeting people such as Cami, he still held out for the hope that this would not truly be the end.

He obviously was, Kol even said he was never a Mikaelson and they left him in a fire and didn’t return for years. I believe this conversation is what lead to Marcel leaving N.O. and going to N.Y. to be with Rebekah. He really wasn't happy and I think Sofya knew that to, which is why she left. She knew he would not fully be done with the Mikaelsons and that included Bex. She really did try to get him to relinquish them but he could not, and would find a way to seek them out. I think that's why he didn't kill Klaus, not just for Rebekah but his love for Klaus. I think he just wanted Klaus to feel what it was like to be powerless and it went to his head.
Reminds me of what Bex told him in season 1 "No matter how big your empire gets, it means nothing if you have no one to share it with" even though he had Sofya that is not who he wanted to share it with. Even though he was furious with them, he couldn't help but to be there for them, when it was all said and done. That is what he finally realized.

Marcel can in fact also compell Originals but he has to use his strength and focus. The ancestors really put some great energy in that serum Lucien Castle made. But since Marcel has the Upgrade, he is in everyway more powerfull than Klaus. Including compelling because Klaus cannot compell Marcel.
Joker Snipez the spell used to make Lucien was not designed by ancestors, it was by Ester. So, the only advantage Marcel has over Klaus is his superior bite. Klaus's strength can be seen in the episode when he and Marcel are trapped in the house by Hollow and Klaus handles Marcel pretty well. Even tough Marcel has the superior bite, Klaus should have been able to heal it as he originally is a warewolf, and a warewolf bit cannot harm a warewolf despite change in their pack line.
And also it is shown that even Marcel can't heal his bite, venom from Marcel's bite can also be used against Marcel.
That is what I think !!
rafay ghauri Yes, It was Esther. The anscestors helped him by fighting the magic other witches used on him. You got that right. But Klaus is not all 7 kinds of werewolves. The venom Marcel/Lucien has is by all 7 werewolf kinds which is apparently deadly enough to kill a werewolf itself. And about the compelling. Marcel can indeed compell an Original by focus. Klaus cannot against him. And strength? Thry might be equal, but Marcel can definitely take him if it is nessecary for him. He has this skill he can turn on whenever he gets ready for a battle. (4x02). Plus Marcel wasn't going to kill Klaus in that house.

In a way I can understand what Klaus is feeling. There's a saying goes ' You can have one or the other, but never both'. He knew at some point of their immortal lives that Rebekkah was gonna decide to have a normal life of her ownwith Marcel and it wasn't gonna work out as long Klaus was in the way of their Relationship.
