It’s really cool seeing John Mayer grow as a player through this music. I’ve been watching these guys for a while and you can Mayer getting better. You can tell he’s pushing himself as a player to improvise and it’s cool he’s taking these songs to places they’ve never been before. I’m all for that. 🤘 Mayer!🤘
U r so rite on he loves doing this job & looks up at Bobby s look of ok ?it’s all good now baby blue ,Jerry did that song good we will have to keep our eyes & ears open but they r going to b just as good soon !❤️❤️🌹🌹🐰🐇✌️☮️🕊🌹🐰❤️🐇👽🕳🪐🙊🙈🙉😘🧜♀️🧜♂️🧜🧚🏿♂️🧚🏼🧚♀️🌈🥰🥲
Just saw Dead and Co. the other night in Bristow and we got an amazing Bird Song... I didn't get to experience Jerry, so I love every Dead and Co. show I go to ...
What I can tell you about well I know one person who loves John Mayer’s music says she loves the dead but hardly listens to them so probably not all of them but I hope when he incorporated this music into his concerts then they’ll learn about the dead
@Andy Graybeal he does 1 Dead song a night on his solo tour. I was lucky enough to get Deal. He also does Fire on the Mountain, Althea, Friend of the Devil". I was a Dead fan long before I was a JM fan (I grew up in the JM time period though) and although I liked his music, it wasnt until he started to play with Dead and Co that I learned what an absolute musical genius he is on the guitar. One of the GOATs, for sure. His ear is like no other and his ability to pick up Jerry's style (no one will be Jerry, of course, but I truly believe Jerry would be proud of John's contribution to the band) has resulted in one of the best bands around right now. He's carrying on their legacy and importance of the "music never stopped " and "let there be songs to fill the air". Dead and Co are at their peak right now and seem to have a lot of fun playing together. Their concerts are my happy place and I have JM to thank!
Wowzie.this song has captured all the songs ever sung by Gratefullas. From my hearing wharf rat about 1970 to today. WHAT A FANTASTIC LEGACY Shades of dark star segued into a melody medley Blessus one and all.
Bobs been working out? Biceps! 💪. Can’t wait for this summer!!! Enjoy the tour guys.... see you in NYC, Boston and Saratoga. Debating on flying to Cali.
I’m amazed bob is taking fitness into consideration but that’s because god allows s o grow like that and we should take advantage of that so awesome he’s taking care of his own health. John Mayer in amazing shape one of these years I need to take the bus haven’t seen dead and company yet
One hell of a BIRDSONG... Looks like Oteil and Jeff switched sides again. Oteil now next to John like he was originally. Changing the dynamic just a bit...
I am really amazed by Mayer's solos................they sound so much like jerry's solos but elevated to the next level...............but Mayer needs to get a mesa boogie Fillmore 50 combo...................it's boogie's version of a fender precision amp.
@@mjt5576 not necessarily, for the 2nd half of jerry's career, he got real lazy with his playing.....he would just rip up and down the same scales again and again that he used for his solos.....it was partially due to the drugs but he kind of stuck with it even during the periods where he was clean.......
John's performance here has brought me back to this video endless times.

He sucks in this platform.
Slowing down "bird song" does give it a different feel. Great stuff!

So good..! You guys americans are so privileged to have such an awesome band on your country!
Yes we are. Enjoy the vibe!
Its about all we have anymore..Most music is mainstream pop or country and stinks but thank god we still have these guys around..
come visit sometime... the bus is good for one or two stops
@@maxperez-stable6796 It's a shame that there is no way to go from here (Brazil). hahahaah
Daveyboy ....you’re clearly not looking in the right places
I wonder if John’s regular pop fans know he is this good. Maybe he converted them all to the Dead.

Andy Graybeal oh okay I gotcha makes sense. Different how he has 2 different fan bases really unique

This !S BeYond Pop, Rock, Jazz, !T´s Almost Beyond Music ; }
CLOSE TOO HEAVEN
They sound good
Mayer has really successfully merged his style with Garcia's touch. Great job.
has Bob ever been better? His role as elder statesman suits him nicely.
Age has many benefits
@@rosebud1958 Amen to that, it's what I tell myself every morning!
Bob still rocks. mad respect for that guy
love the Instrumentals!
Seeing them at Wrigley field June 15th 👌👌👌
Seeing them in Camden 6/20!
I need a miracle ??
The Dead will never die!

Blessus one and all.
going to one of these vacations gigs is on by bucket list
Grateful for two nights in the Gorge this year! Mass love fellas💜
so good
John Boy has truly elevated his game, well done!
I was there! 84 to 18!
Bobs been working out? Biceps! 💪.

See you at Gillette stadium brother!
Used to see Bobby biking up Mt. Tamalpais, back in the '80s. Not much room between biker and buses when you're pedaling up the hill. Hell of a workout
He’s been drinking a lot of really big beers
JJ F Hollywood Bowl highly recommended!!!!!!!

just sweet!
fly through, fly through... fly through the niiiight...
very mature work.. kudo's all around
He deserves to play with Jerry’s guitars !
Razzel or whoever said that about John is rite on ! I was in with them was with Jerry my soul mate in the 80 s !John is a guitar genius!
5:10 a nod to Miles Davis' "In a silent way"
I thought that's what it was. Then thought..nah.
@@genogardner1822 he’s said he loves in a silent way so I think it was
He's done a similar nod on a live take here on TH-cam of his song Wheel :) @@anthonygiacalone6175
11:58 great recovery, John.
This is what makes Mayer great
Bobby's thumb nail photo, for this video, slightly resembles Garcia's Europe profile photo.
One hell of a BIRDSONG...

Tasty af
Otiel’s short shorts and sweatbands are on point
This is like taking "The Nestea Plunge" or a "York Peppermint Patty"= "Get the sensation" !!! RoCK oNN!!

Jerry was more soulful and took more chances. He was exciting. Mayer is a good player but he noodles endlessly. Where is the personality and fire?
@@mjt5576 not necessarily, for the 2nd half of jerry's career, he got real lazy with his playing.....he would just rip up and down the same scales again and again that he used for his solos.....it was partially due to the drugs but he kind of stuck with it even during the periods where he was clean.......
11:59 nice save by John lol
Right! Actually made it better!
I think is a lifelong deadhead I think Jerry would be pleased
Song starts at 17:30. Ha
This is 1.25 times better when played at 1.25 x's speed.
The fake f hole in the guitar (Alembic?) is so strange.
holy shit bob put the brakes on that real hard XD
youtube ads midway through a video = awful
John Mayer is pretty good but I’d sooner Billy Strings join tje Dead. He’s got soul
Dead&Co needs more bass!
Ouch!
The Bass doesn't make it for me...too heavy. I yearn for Phil's style here....
Ya but they probably take a quarter hit of acid n end up in the phsych ward
I hope they change guitarists
This is a sad “try at Jerry’s musical miracles.
Like shitting on a diamond
Sorry Boomer
Waste of time.
And time to be wasted

Agree
This is a horrible version of the song. Sounds like a completely different song.
