Azusa Canyon Off-Road OHV, 5-19-24. Where’s the mud?

- Azusa Canyon reopened today. Over 200 tickets sold in anticipation of mud but the area was sealed off. The mud is on the other side of the berms and we can’t access it. We will find a way to make with what is available to us. This will be a long summer in the canyon.

Thanks again for your support Chad. Funny thing was that when I went across in the morning I almost ended up stuck on the boulders. I had to back and retry a third or fourth time to get across. Once the mud at the entrance went under water it was much easier.
@@mudgyver5205 ya I couldn’t see any Large ripples indicating deep large rocks however I noticed several if not all of the trucks hitting large boulders hidden in the fast moving water
@@chadjohnson2853 The funny this that they all know those big boulders have been there for years.
Need more pumps and some longer hoses next time but man by the end of the day those mud pits we’re pretty long against that back wall

Yeah it was. That thing was screaming but got around quite well.
I have a stock 2022 gladiator overland you think it can handle this ? Been wanting to get a lift kit and some bigger/ all terrain tires soon

Do you think a quad can make the first river crossing?
Upon entering, if you stay to the far right, yes. The middle has big boulders in the stream. The left starts out deep then shallows half way through.
Looks sick definitely going to try to go this coming weekend, I know it opens around 8am what time do you recommend getting there?
It gets busier starting at 11 to noon. I’m an early bird though. 🙂

How do you guys check when it’s open? We went up 2 weeks ago and it was closed.
The best way I know is to go to the website, www(dot)recreation(dot)gov. In the search engine type in “San Gabriel OHV” and you’ll be golden. Hope this helps.

What day is everyone going for memorial weekend? Sunday or monday?
Sunday should be the busiest but Saturday should be a good indicator for the next two days. We’ll be there Sunday for sure, possibly even Saturday.
@mudgyver5205 sounds good, sunday are the days I normally go. Just wanted to confirm if anyone was going Monday!
I probably will see what happens Sunday to determine my Monday.
