Oh yes, what a beautiful smile he has ! My daughter and I always went to his concerts in Paris and although I was not a youngster, we had a what of a time;
Did you know that this song was written and recorded to be the main theme of the 1977 film The Greatest, a biopic of the boxer Muhammad Ali, and is performed during the opening credits. George knew greatness.
Of course, we have the record. It is nice to have a buddy now requesting songs in my genre. Thank you Jungle J for requesting this one. We like listening to this record on a morning when we are drinking coffee and making breakfast❣
George Benson has been putting in the work and laying down tracks for decades. 36 Studio albums, 8 Live albums, 21 Compilation albums, 2 Video albums, 72 Singles & EPs and 115 recordings as a sideman. 🎸😎💯
George Benson is "Da MAN"!!! Grammy winners, Jazz Master guitar player....he originally was music ONLY, but he sang, yes SANG a couple of dongs and the combo was the beginning of this LEGEND..I can't tell you how many times I've enjoyed his concerts; he never disapoints...he's the perfect segeway to try tasting some Jazz...some Smooth Jazz.... You've probably heard some of his crossover hits like "Turn Your Love Around", "On Broadway" or "The Greatest Love of All" or "Lady Love Me" to name a few...Perfect vibe to chill and still bop your head to the beat...worth checking out, PEACE RMR!! Thnx😉
😂😂😂 I had forgotten about that song. Where you were thinking skating, the minute it started. Flash back to wide collars and polyester leisure suits. 😂😂😂😂 Definitely a song that would be hard to sit still listening to. However, nope never skated to this (I'm horrible at skating) Definitely hit the dance floor to it a few tmes. Thanks for the flashback.😂😂😂😂
Damn, Fly Tye! This George Benson song is one of my all-time favorites and I NEVER get tired of hearing it. I call this Late Scat because of the time after the 20s and 30s when Scat was born. Thanks so much this revived my spirit tonight and I really needed it after that HORRIFIC Colorado Traitor Announcement!
1980? 81? I have a vague memory of riding in my mom's car while listening to the local 50,000-watt station that stilled played Top 40. At thst time the station was covering the end of the Iranian hostage crisis, and this song interrupted that coversge
I saw you mouth “Thriller”… There’s a reason for that. The song was written by Rod Temperton and produced by Quincy Jones (peak Michael Jackson Thriller era).
A couple things about this video. It’s probably him roller skating because that’s what we did for fun. Go to the roller rink. Your status with the ladies was “ can you skate” lol. That move he did was actually pretty basic. The lady in the video is Ola Ray..the first black playboy centerfold. The background guitar is Lee Ritenhour.another legend. Patti Austin was an up and comers at the time was the female background vocals. Bomb bay stuff 😅
He didn't get enough camera time, but I'm always sure the bass player always is having a better time than anyone else in any band during any song, unless that song does not have a bass player.
Benson is the greatest living jazz guitarist. Periodt.Period. This was dance music down south.
George Benson's guitar work is legendary. The man's got great soul
George Benson was really skating in this video. A very talented musician and singer. 🙏🏾💐❤️🎤🎸🪘🎹🎼
Excellent. No other way to describe George Benson.
Classic! One of my favorite funky grooves from the period (of all time, actually).
Love George Benson…. Especially when he sang with Al Jarraeu

Hes done some fantastic tunes. But nothing beats his version of unchained melody ❤

Wow George Benson is awesome and what a beautiful smile he has ❤
Awesome jam
Loved that song! Back in the early 80's we danced to that song every time! You couldn't stop yourself. A little Soul funk jazz R&B from George.
GB, Pittsburgh, Pa born and raised. Thanks for playing it
One of his big ones and he a few.
Breezin.. On Broadway.. Here Come the Sun.. etc
69 yrs old and I love this song
People were having FUN!!!!!! Look at this party, man! The ‘70’s hit different.
One of my favorite guitarists. Though not as much funk, I do like Benson's Breezin.

i loved this old skool african american soul rnb jazz sound just awesome timeless
Thank you for playing this. I requested this, brings back memories I had with my father. It reminds me of good times I had as a child.
Maybe it was all my years working at the Old Navy, but this was my jam.
The base is always good in Georges tracks!

This is a classic song. You can't really tell it from this track, but George is a killer guitar player, he can go off.

One of my favorites, music from that time was just so well done, just quality all the way through.
One of my all time favorite songs!
I saw him on Fort Lauderdale in 1985. Came to us, and gave us a 💋 kiss.
My jam as a kid

Reminds me of when I first started going to clubs
When I get out on the floor. The dance floor that is.
Wow! You brought back memories of me in Miami Beach years ago. I went ice skating in Miami. Don't know if they still have skating rinks.
Kendal Ice Arena in Miami is open down that way, they also have a lot of Roller Rinks there still.
I miss those days!
Nice!
