Today we're finally putting some time into our greenhouse. We built it 7 years ago and it's seen a lot of use so it’s time to show it some love. Dan did a bunch of work to the building itself while I got it cleaned up and moved out hundreds of seedling. I had some very sad tomatoes that needed to be potted up so I made some paper pots, which I show you how to do, and get them into some fresh soil. I hope you enjoy coming along with us today.
Thanks for watching!

This has been a HUGE help to me! I have a super drafty greenhouse that I wasn't able to utilize like I wanted and now I'm going to line it with greenhouse plastic on the inside and shore it up with furring strips as well as getting a greenhouse heater shipping from Amazon as I write this. Thank you so much for sharing your experiences and knowledge with us on gardening, cooking, and animal care.
The paper pots!!! 🤓🤓awesome idea thanks
Chesea, We're so pleased to hear you address the yellowish nodules vs the tomato stem hairs situation! Eventually everyone will hear this info, esp from sites like yours!
You and Dan work so well together. Your greenhouse looks amazing.
Hugs to you and your family as the anniversary of losing your nephew comes up. May God bless and comfort you all.
Thank you. It’s so much harder than I thought it would be.
Love your channel..no agendas..no controversy thank you
I love seeing your green house and your beautiful little plants 🌱
Thank you for taking us along! Do you rent Dan out?? He’s quite handy to have around!
Lol!
There’s just something so magical about spring and the hope of a beautiful garden.
Wetting the soil before putting it into pots makes it much better.
Wonderful partner you have in Dan! Have a wonderful day!
Paper pots! You do such a great job by creating frugal and efficient systems.
Thank you for each and every video. I love your channel! God bless!
You are so welcome!
That greenhouse is looking great. I love your process with the newspaper.
Greenhouse looks really good!!! A happy place to spend your days! ☀️🌱🌱🌱👍🏻
I planted three tomato plants out in the garden this afternoon and put Wall O’ Water protectors around them. I’m in zone 6, last frost is around My 15. I bought them because I decided not to grow seedlings this year, as we have our 2 year old grandson living with us and he is busy! It wasn’t worth the fight for me and the disappointment when the plants got all dumped. I’m excited for all your happy little seedlings, though!
I have to let you know I had a lung biopsy a couple weeks ago and it came back negative for malignancy! Yay! Praise the Lord! I thought for sure my renal cancer I had 3 years ago had come back, but the Lord was merciful to me.
I’m so relieved for you, dear friend.♥️♥️
Because of the incident last year, planting more brassicas is a really good idea
Lol
Even though you are quite capable, it is a treasure seeing Dan help you out so you can get on to other jobs (Lunch!!!) LOL It is so exciting seeing all the seedlings move out into the greenhouse!!
Good job the greenhouse is so cute and with Dan being a handyman makes it even better. Thank you for sharing.
I love watching your videos, so informative on many levels
I love Spring and seeing everything coming back to life. It re-energises me after the winter months. Hope your garden is as prolific as it was last year!
May God bless you all. You bring joy to so many. Thank You!
Thank you so much.♥️
Thanks for sharing our experiences🙏🙏🙏 You are a great team - working hand in hand🌸👍🌸👍🌸👍
love your greenhouse! The paper pots are so clever! Thanks for sharing...
Dan is a treasure! So excited for growing season. 😍🇨🇦
He is, 100%.
I use paper egg crates and you can tear off the entire seedling a crate paper and re plan5 it all into garden soil or bigger container.
Chelsea I thought I was the only one who greets their plants 🥰
Your green house looks so nice. Can’t wait to see how much it improves all your work to get all that food in your pantry. Thank you for taking us along, Bev in North Northern California
U can see u are so happy in your environment of gardening u are lucky u have a fantastic husband who will do any thing for u no matter how small the job is
Looks so much better, yey Dan! Blessings!
Greenhouse is incredible. Can't wait to see it all in a few weeks. I myself put some plants outside in my little wee greenhouse. So warm in the sun, for now anyways. I am just on the outskirts of Vancouver. It is a lot of work doing a large garden but so pays off in the end. I always find gardening and canning so therapeutic
Hi from Australia, vinegar and salt is a great weed killer
I adore your passion for your plants.
I also talk to my plants.
Smiled knowingly when you greeted your potted up seedlings. 😊
Dan’s greenhouse transformation! My word! Isn’t he a darling!
I too potted up dreary looking tomatoes today. But skipped a step and transplanted 15 straight into their undercover forever homes. 😬 Having surgery next week so I’m giving them the opportunity to thrive without my parenting issues for the duration 😃.
Maybe put a bowl of water on the shelves in your grow room to provide moisture that the seedlings could absorb atmospherically.
Wonder how much we save growing our own garden starts… must be 100s x 💵
Love your videos. 💃
He really is a gem of a human. We’re a great team, me with the ideas him with the muscles and brains to execute them! Lol
@@LittleMountainRanchha ha. I always tell my husband he is the muscles and I am the brains in our relationship.😊❤
Love seeing the progress
Wonderful improvements & progress! Thanks for sharing your knowledge! Blessings to all 🤗🇨🇦
Love your greenhouse!
Chelsea, my prayers are with you and your family while you approach the anniversary of losing your nephew. I hope everyone is ok out there.
Thank you. ♥️
Yay Spring! Love the greenhouse. It's so nice to get growing again❣
Plants and greenhouse look wonderful! Val C
Love the fast forward and the noise it makes. If we could really work that fast.
yep
Hey Dan!😊
looking good!
Lucky you! My greenhouse is my kitchen counters! 😂
Looks great!
Thanks for sharing!
You guys are a great team.
I definitely uppot my tomatoes. I do not take off the cotyledons, doesn't ever seem to make a difference.
Enjoyed the video 😊
Chelsea, do you fertilize your veggies and with what and when?😍🇨🇦
If they need it I use Gaia Green 4-4-4
Paper pots what a great idea. Where do you get plant based ink news paper.
As a non gardener, why don’t gardeners just plant the seeds in the final pot rather than having to repot? Is it a space issue?
How did that little shelf hold both your weight standing on it? How’s it made? Very nice
Cleaning a greenhouse isn't fun, but you look good doing it! Dan is a lucky man...
o hello! i just hit the sub button yay! i've watched enough of your backlog to be enchanted, ready to be adopted, ready to pitch in - but alas, i'm here on my own mini farmette here in se utah, so guess i'll stay put for awhile and monitor you all up north! hello! of the videos i've watched, i think my fav so far is when you used one of your histerical (sic) cookbooks to make that v cool sammy! loved that. i may have to send you another recipe. meanwhile - re: the old oily box that is still beautiful? could that clever dan, or you, simply remove the bottom oil-soaked wood and replace it? hmm. bunky is sooo cool! and greenhouses full of plantlets! and all you all! nice to meet you, will go sign up for your newsletter pronto. cheers from libby in utah
Welcome!!!😊
Please tell me there will be no water pooling up on the floor of the seed room - just so I can sleep easier tonight with your electric cords on the ground. I'm definitely going to use your pot idea. I've heard that all inks used now days for newspapers - don't use lead in the ink so it is safe for plants and people. Same as pencils that people still call lead pencils even though it has been many, many years since lead was used in them. It's unbelievable that we lived through those past generations. I remember playing the the lead bricks my Dad kept in the garage. It was fun to use sharp sticks and dig into them - or fingernails. Yikes, how am I still alive? Now that I think about it, I used to attach lead sinkers onto the line by biting them closed!
There won’t be. That’s why I lift it up during the day.
And all the mercury we played with from the light switches!
I have two questions: 1)Do you use the top shelves where you just put the heaters for your plants? 2) Where are you getting the electricity from for your heaters?
Yes, I use them in nice it’s warm enough at night not to have the extra plastic. The power comes from the shop.
Do you have some favorite fennel recipes? What can you do with fennel? Thanks!
You and Dan were obviously made for each other. It's so nice to watch you two take care of your family together. God bless all of you.

Did you use agricultural strength vinegar or the strength used in cooking? If the former, what is your source and cost? I'm finding agricultural strength vinegar very challenging to locate online.
Just regular old kitchen vin. Let me know if you find that latter!
I bought containers of 2.5 litres of 10% acetic acid by volume ‘double strength cleaning vinegar’ from Dollarama in Alberta. Company name is Winston House out of Canada. I just noticed the back label says it’s food safe!
I also have some artichoke recipes. LOL we are Greek.
I seed calendula straight out into the bed. Too much time and space wasted to seed them in the greenhouse.
I do both because I like the early blooms.
@@LittleMountainRanch Yes, it makes sense. Here in Eastern Ontario calendula reseeds itself.
Can you please share where you purchase the newspaper from?
Just the local newspaper.
What is your growing zone? I see BC goes from 1-9!

Hi Chelsea, the green house is looking really good. You and Dan have done a great job. Can you please tell me what vinegar you use? Apple Cider, White or Malt Vinegar or can you use any type of vinegar? Thanks for sharing. Jeanette in New Zealand.
Just regular calling vinegar - we’ll have to see if it works in a few weeks.
are your seedling trays on heat mats for germination? and do you use humidity domes until they sprout? I hate them, so finicky. Curious if you have success wo.
Nope, I don't use any of those. I did try domes this year, and they were ok for some things but not necessary in our region.
Hi Chelsea! Do you ever have issues with rodents eating your seedling in the greenhouse?
I am looking for the paper to make the pots. Where do you buy it? Thanks.
Just at our local newspaper. If you ask for their old ones, they're usually really cheap!
What are the pots made of?
Newsprint
You are so busy! Do you have any help ❤
We all pitch in around here.😊
🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️
Why don't you plant eggplant? I'mI can give you some delicious recipes. They are so good for you.
I have a few times, just not this year.
