I always thought of this track as a sound of Europa, the heart beats of its creatures, moving of tectonic plates, just all events that happen, made into a melody... 0:00 Tranquility and peace, simple creatures, we may call alien, yet we are the intruders. They swim along the ice, broken through by heavy machinery. Suddently, conflict wages as humans step foot (or swim foot?) on the moon, the sound in the back, the repeating drumming can be taken as the planets beat, the way creatures exist or existed before we came, we can also symbolize drumming of a march (the army one). Gunfire, of course it is, colonization was always supported with firepower rather than with strong arguments and offerings, such as conquistadors, such as the collonials of Europa. Life here is not as such, so we develop weapons for fending off. We promise not to use it against each other, a rule, to be broken so swiftly. 2:30 Drumming stops, leaving us to sounds of mechanisms humming and zamming, gunfire doesn't stop, instead it becomes rarer, as humans have split into groups, coalitions and tribes of sorts. Now questioning their independance, Europas people decide they shall be better off as a self-governing planet, the history is repeating itself ain't it? No waiting has to be done untill new concepts and discoveries are made, some lifechanging, some just making it simpler. 4:44 The silence is broken by a ballad, new way of life found, in the new age of peace, Europa became self-sufficient, but, the clock ticks. Ticking again and again, the war, it didn't stop has it? War cannot just die down, until there is only one man standing. Creatures, we made them threatless, auto turrets, surface-zappers, we can protect ourselves, they are a resource, gathered for meat and material. Those caves, those geysers, the natural resources to be harvested. To be? They are harvested, yet the new populus needs more, It Craves More. And we shall get more... Generals checking their watches. Mobilization. Preparation. All of these nature driven and calm melodies are swapped for droning, submarines march into battle as those of humans on the moon shall come to a clash, dread can be felt throughout. Weapons loaded, barrels constructed, supply chains and demands met, industrialization on the brink of war. Humans are cyclic animals, they will never be able to just exist, always wanting more. So we fight to death, clawing one others throats. Seconds away, finger atop, the red button is. . . pressed 8:30 Finally, the ear banging, war waging, torpedo launching, nuke shell aiming, banging part is heard. Chaos reigns, morse code communication intercepted, the water, now stained in chemicals, toxic in nature as to kill off as much life as possible, casings upon casings are sat on the oceans floor, gunshots ring more than ever only to stop... Has the war taken a break? Did humans find peace once again? Or is this a facade, fake peace... Gunshots hasn't stopped? Yet, it's calm again. Another melody, unheard yet, it resonates from within and makes space after that terrible occurance, dread is still there, but along with it, it is hope... 10:25 Unheard of in Barotraumas world, unheard of on Europa, no matter how grim this music gets, it followed us along through the song, from 10 minutes ago to now, hiding in plain sight. "As a wise man once said, Nature always finds a way", nature indeed found it, the cleanse comes, humans are not the main threat, not anymore, not ever again, as radiation spreads across the moon, the radiation from the Campaign mode that is 12:36 it's silent, celestial step, cannot be argued or bargained with, slicing through the deep sea, lowers us, the player, deeper into The Abyss, outpost to outpost we are forced to flee, combat with the nature that for once, fights back strongly, as if empowered by this anomalous occurance. We take upon ourselves and our crew to survive. Its hard and through many hardships we move, move to the next safe point, next semblance of human life on this dying ice cube, though it is not forever that we decend, as everything has its bottom 13:30 The Abyss stares back, as you stare in the abyss, its gaping maw long shut, a trap, you may be safe from the radiation, but your submarine has noticibly more bitemarks, scratchmarks, bullet grazes. You crew battered and beaten, you are the synergy of mechanics and biomass perfect forge of crew organisation and ships maintenance, your resilience in face of fear had led you to this point, of no return. You're not here to return, in the deepest point, in a smallest crevice on the object which resides in the Abyss of Space itself, you shall find the treasure, treasure which, like a monolyth made you come, now sit, and hear... 16:17 The Beautiful chime. Chime of walls, refracting lights into thousands of dots, flashing as you move the light, so simple, just photons bouncing around, you have been to so many places these physics don't move you. Chime of eyes gazing upon you, those eyes's ears hurt by the sonar of your Coffin, it's simply foraging for food, insincts you fought with for so long, memorized. But there are things unexplainable, this pit you got yourself in, it holds some never to be understood, some that is your past expiriences, sum of which connects to those of others in this multi-dimensional web. The anomaly, the radiation, the ruins, the nature of all conflict, our origin, origin of life beyond this rotting sea, the bleeps made by the sonar as it shows a signature, never before contacted, these uncomfortable noises and silence, that silent silence... The Worlds Silence. If you were to leave this premise you would be as lost as you were at the start, yet unexplainable nature of this position within which you find yourself bends and twists your morals, compassions, beliefs, your psyche, I could sum up everything this song went through yet this part bends me just as much as The Anomaly bends and twists Your Coffin open. May Europa breath onwards. May you do too. May, day continue with night in the close. May day... The cascade of emotions across the track are amazing, maybe i am a schizo, which I probably am now thinking, but the track is my favourite across all within the game. No, I cannot be the one thinking and imagining all of these pictures in my head can't I? Just, just spent an hour on this bullshit, that probably will never be read in full, with timings in mind and same compassion I had. Oh well, guess that's how it feels to be one of those youtubers that make an 8 hour video on some obscure show or game from like 5 years ago... FUCK THIS GAME IS 7 YEARS OLD? I WAS HERE SINCE THE LEGACY SEMI-CLOSED BETA, FUCK IM OLD... And they fucking put it in the submarine constructor...
Jade, thank you for posting this OST but this song especially. It’s fitting that this sounds like something from a Resident Evil save room. It’s the last safe place you’ll be once you click that ready button.
Only Barotrauma devs could just casually release a 20-minute-long track
I like the song of Making a submarine for three days tutorial.mp3
yes
That is absolutely true, just that i made one in 5 days 💀

Just want you to know I read the entire thing and the pictures and images your words conjure were a very welcome edition to the music.
@@B0ULLIE Thank you :>
I read all and feel this too, man
Этот саундтрек как символ долгой, кропотливой работы
Thank god I love that music, cuz I spend way too long in the sub editor
I made a grand total of one submarine, and got the Naval Architect achievement for it.
what.
Not me memorizing an entire 18 minute instrumental song from spending way too much time in the submarine editor
Hands down this is one of the best “sandbox” songs right up there with Ketbal Space Program and Minecraft. The perfect kind of music to study to.

the beautiful sound of waiting in a server lobby for 20 minutes just to start a mission and die in 5
I get goosebumps when I listen to this because of how good it is! Chain fan here from roblox. It plays during sunrise.
Thanks for sharing.
10:38 oh my goodness that sound is so amazing
To me this song is a call to arms, my crew needs me
