      @@wenotlazy I wanted to let you know me and my son were able to change out his oil pressure sensor and now his car is working perfectly. I took the new sensor to Lowes to get a socket that fit it. It turned out to require a 27mm deep well socket. The only sockets like that Lowe's had at that size was an impact-rated deep well which was a bit pricey. The set of sockets that included it, plus the size adapters I needed (since it was a 1/2" socket) totaled $120. The sensor itself was only $30.

    Yay! I get to do mine tomorrow Sunday. Mine keeps saying Low oil, stop engine immediately. Because we drove it without fixing the leak one day. Might of ruined the sensor once we fixed the problem.
    Anyways, thank you for uploading your time with the project. You made it look so simple.
    God bless!!

    Thank you for this video. Helped out so much more than you know. After watching this, I noticed that my sensor was covered in oil, too. This could be why it goes out and periodically gives a "Oil pressure low - Stop engine" sign. I'm guessing from the oil filter above the sensor.

    This really helped me out a lot. I couldn't have done it without your help. I was so scared it was another issue besides the pressure sensor but thankfully it was just this. Only thing I'll add was the securing washer was deformed in my car so I had to turn it to remove it. I was scared it was glued down. Maybe it was melted idk.

    This is by far the best video out there on changing out the oil pressure sensor for the V6 3.6 LS. Had mine go on a 2012 and I noticed zero pressure on the 4 pack gauge and no codes. It would intermittently go up to max and jitter wildly and fall back to zero. Went to Autozone and they said they seen a lot of these go bad and get replaced. Autozone part comes with a lifetime warranty so there’s peace of mind there besides they are very encouraging of diy weekend mechanics. I needed that and gained confidence from this video to attempt it.

    Can you please tell us what made you want to change the oil pressure sensor?
    Was your dash advising you of it? And to stop engine.?
    Because mine is saying the same thing. But no leak, not knocking, temperature is normal. Just ever so often, usually at start up. It announces this message?
    It would greatly help me out?

    My dash is saying low oil pressure stop engine. I was thinking it was a sensor, so I took it to the shop yesterday. They tell me that there is metal particles in my oil. I don’t know how that would have happened I’ve always gotten my oil changed on time and I always get full synthetic oil which is recommended for my 2010 Camaro SS. I love my car I’ve had her close to 9 years. She runs fine to me the message scared me so I took her to the shop and they’re telling me that the fix is $13k🥴. The low pressure oil stop engine comes on/off periodically.

    • @wenotlazy
      @wenotlazy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hey, I'm just going to tell you from my experience I...DO..NOT..TRUST..MOST..SHOPS. Some of these shops are money hungry.I would say get a second opinion and do not tell them what the first shop said.See if the second opinion tell you the same thing.I had the same message and same situation as you.And changing the sensor solved it no issues after.
