If the dude who made "All My Homies Hate Skrillex" said this is a favorite, i paused and came to immediately listen. I am now listening for the 3rd time...
I loved the final years of the original Dubstep movement. I know they called it "Post-Dubstep" or whatever, but I don't mind that term because it helps one narrow down these last artists who helped the genre have an easy rest. Burial is the ghost that is still here though, always peeking out to say something
I loved this record the day it came out. When I found out that the same guy that did Wilhelm Scream and this and CMYK. I was blown away! Been a fan ever since!!!!!!
thanks Ben UFO, Pangea and Dave Ramadanman/ Pearson Sound for turning me on to this and all the other amazing stuff that started emerging from the rotting corpse of dubstep c2006-9
ok there's always the exceptions... skream was playing some interesting stuff on stella sessions around that time that was still a bit halfsteppy etc, eg benga evolution, magnetic man what's happening...
Its interesting how the so-called Post-Dusbtep -later labeled as Future Bass- stablished itself towards more club oriented-tracks. In my opinion…Night Slugs/Fate to Mind and later on the so-called Weightless Grime was the last remanent of this big wave called Dubstep. As the brits like to call it; the hardcore continuum “timeline”.

tune is 10 years old jesus. seems like this sorta scene/ innovation within it has died down proper in the last chunk of years... obv still good stuff but glad i was around to see 12”/ep era Blake
Yes and no, there's still lots of fun dark and subby stuff coming from the likes of Gantz and LAS, but it's a little less 'melodic' than the Mount Kimbie et al sort of stuff.
@@morgengabe1 if you're interested I have a playlist called 'Beautiful Bassweight' with as many melodic sub-bass dubstep songs I can find, there's def plenty still being put out :)

@@djatlasmusik It's standard level EDM bullshit that makes anyone over the age of 20 cringe. If you think Virtual Riot has even a fraction of James Blake's talent; you know absolutely nothing about music. You're probably American, which would explain your god awful take.

Congratulations you've cast your spell on me aswell.

have you tried holding peppers in your hand?

He was also in King's Dead.
I love when music is created from underground
And people put their ideas to it
gud choice
in terms of production, he has yet to top this.
straight classic.
I‘m here because of „All My Homies Hate Skrillex“ documentary
That made me uncomfortable and made me feel pleasure at the same time in a way no song has ever done before. Well done.
Really feeling the live version of this from npr

The sampled track, "Holy Babe," but Kelly Pace, is fantastic.
Wtf why does that bass sound like a riddim bass? 🤯 damn on another level James Blake .
Because this song is dubstep (the oldschool kind), which riddim is a subgenre of.
