The view are really awesome considering that the home isn't all that strenuous. Trust little bonus section at the end really took it up a notch too! 😎👍
Ok just got back from that trail and I noticed there's a black box their all the time have u guys notice that too when u do that trail all the way up their ?
This does not have to be an in-and-out hike. It can be part of a loop. Park at the Calico Hills North (between Calico 1 and the Sandstone Quarry), and climb up to the summit of the nearest white sandstone peak. It's more feasible than it looks. Once you've arrived at the summit, there is a winding route to a cleft that allows you to descend to the Calico Tanks. After descending the Calico Tanks Trail to the Sandstone Quarry, you can then hike the Grand Circle Loop trail back to the parking lot. I've hiked this loop at least a dozen times.
Unfortunately when we went hiking on this trail, it was nowhere near easy, as the tank probably had 2-3 feet of water built up from the rainstorms that happened the days before, so we had to go essentially on the walls of the tank to get around it - not recommended. It also dropped 30-40 degrees by the time we got to the top, wind picked up to about 60mph and a blizzard like storm hit out of nowhere. Definitely not an ideal time, but a very memorable one.
@@KeyshawnJenkins woah that seems like quite a different experience indeed! Times like t that may not be fun in the moment, but it definitely makes for a story after the fact!

How many minutes would you say it took to do his trail
@@mshill2406 it could take up to around 3 hours. So that adds up to about 180 minutes
@@LiveThatAdventure Is that going up AND coming down?
@@mshill2406 yes that is roundtrip

The pandemic is over so why do we still need reservations?
We don't make the rules...You can always call the park and ask them. 😊
