You're right Mike, I feel this is as close to a bouncing middle finger as Aurora could ever get 😂. I read another comment where the thought was definitely Aurora was "poking fun" at the critics who don't like her movements, or her head shake, or her (sometimes) wide eyes, or any of the other quirks she may have. But the real beauty of this song is the message that you don't need to apologize for being yourself. EVER, in any way...genius!
The middle finger thing really made me laugh. That is so true. I love that Aurora put all of her so called "Ticks" that people make fun of in this video (hand movements, wide eyes, and head shakes) So she truly is giving them all the middle finger. She does not give a damn about what anyone thinks of her. That is one of the best things about Aurora. She is 100% authentically herself all of the time.
Someone called this performance cheeky and I agree. Aurora has a playful side rarely seen in her MVs and I thoroughly enjoyed seeing it here. Great reaction.

She said the spark for the song was knowing they still have "Conversion therapy" for Gay people in many parts of the world (including Norway) And since she is Bisexual, she is part of the community, so it is very personal to her. She truly is a gift to humanity. I just love her. She cares so much about equality and making everyone feel seen and loved. No, this is not my favorite song of hers, but It is so fun and the message is so on point. The video is so "Aurora" It's been stuck in my head for days now. And I love the bouncing middle finger thing. And of course, there already had to be a commenter coming along to crap on this. Very annoying. Anyways, thanks guys for another Great Aurora reaction

I have to admit, I have been fan of a lot of artists, Elvis, Beatles, MJ, Madonna, Smokey, A-ha, Bruce, Chris De Burg, Elton John, Bon Jovi and many more.... But it has only been shallow compared to Aurora..... I feel like I know her.... I know it is "only" the artist I know, but I feel that a lot of Aurora the person are showing also. I feel that a lot of artists are like "lets make a song that sells well", a lot of 80's music I love don't make sence if you alalyse the lyrics... That is fine, I still love them, but Aurora's music..... Substance, meaning, depth.... I Don't eaven know the words..... And so mindblowingly fantastic butiful music and preformances.....

@@RunarNyrud Yes, she definitely has that something special that not many other artists have. And it helps that she is such a humble and kind human being. And she doesn't care about the fame part of this job, which is refreshing.
Her sister, who was in charge of the costumes is afraid clowns. While Aurora loves them. So it's a mixture of both emotions :)
I think the song is almost sarcastic niceness too.... Like the southern expression "bless your heart" means someone is stupid but in a 'nice' way. She is like flippantly like "nah I don't need a cure for me' with a sarcastic smile on her face.
Yeah, definitely something new. Had to listen to the audio version a couple of times, because I was unsure, but once I saw the video version it clicked for me. I actually think it has potential to become a hit of sorts. It would be a dancehall favorite and the dududu beat has lot of remix potentiel. And the dance i bound to go viral on TikToc.
I would pay money to see Aurora flip “the bird” in one of her videos. I then would probably die laughing. Love the video and reaction. Looking forward to the album release.

Enjoyed your reaction! This video from Aurora is very felliniesque. The room/backdrop in the video is a re-creation of a set from the Tim Burton film 'Alice in Wonderland,' and AURORA says that the dance she created is based on one performed in that film by Johnny Depp -- 'Futterwacken dance' (but also with elements of the Charleston). The masks (she herself painted) feel very felliniesque (and possibly reference Dionysus. She said there is a god or goddess being invoked in each new video -- in EXIST FOR LOVE it was of course Venus).
Would you happen to know where the sample of the do do do's in the chorus is from? I keep picturing Tom and Jerry dancing in carnival attire, but I've been trying to find the popular song/composition it's from. It lends to the circus aspect.

At first I had difficulties with the sound of the chorus. Sounds a lot like 90s video game music (Aurora enjoys playing video games. That becomes very clear here 😁).
But through the video and listening to it several times, I find the chorus as well as the rest really good.
Aurora said the song does not represent the album. It is quite separate, but it joins the story of the whole album. Aurora herself finds the song quite ugly in a beautiful way. 😁
The song in general goes against institutes that offer a so-called cure for homosexuality. Which is still practiced today.
And of course it should increase self-confidence and self-esteem for everyone who needs it.
I think it's great that she's also pointing the (middle)finger (besides all the other reasons not to need a cure) at her critics here and against people who call others crazy or creepy or laugh at them just because they dress differently, have ticks or otherwise fall out of the norm.
All movements that are otherwise involuntary with her, she makes here with full intention.
Her wide open eyes, her hand movements, Shaking her head and her involuntary twitches.

The apple is from the Garden of Eden and Aurora likes to bite in.😁. Which brings us to the Christian faith and its views on what love between two people should look like.
In addition, the apple could also be a reference to the sentence she once said in an interview. Why can't there be a wish inside an apple? Anything is possible if you believe in it. 😁
I think the "Exist for love" reference at the very beginning (Aurora in the Crystal Ball on the Shell) had its reason. The song was also criticized. That wouldn't be Aurora and why is she singing such a song? Why only love between man and woman? And so on. The usual stupid talk.
In general, there are many special details in the video that have meaning. The black and white floor on which she dances or the glued 7 and 9 angular stars in her face and on the floor. By the way, she painted the masks herself and her sister made her outfit. It should also create a bridge to "Exist for love".
And by the way, the video is inspired by Alice in Wonderland. The dance in corus and the visuals.

As we all slowly emerge from the rabbit holes we have been stuck in for 18 months - what better song to accompany our wobbly practice of social gatherings and skills again. (Speaking for myself, of course).
This song should come with a warning though. It is insanely sticky.

As you this time talked about beeing different and maybe also diagnosis. I have ADD whitch different to ADHD is when instead of turning feelings acting out. You turn youre feelings towards inside of you. ( At least how I usually explains it...)
And my daughter has Autism. So its freeing to hear artists and youtubers talking possitive about people beeing who they are. In an easygoing possitive way.

Aurora has been open about being on the spectrum in the HAIK documentary and the challanges this has brought for her. Aurora has said this song is about just being who you are, but also a response to gay conversion therapy that is still legal in many countries including Norway.
I love this little bop... but Aurora says it's not so indicative of the album to come but more of a one off playful song.

And Ginger there was one reactor who was totally having a real trauma response to the masked people, but he pushed through it out of love for Aurora.

Aurora never said she was on the spectrum, she said that the kids at her school thought she was autistic because she scored so high on a iq test, and then they teased her for it. She said she grew up in a free home, where there were no labels…
@@Sirkusen it might be possible that the English subtitles gave a different translation. But it was my understanding she acknowledged her difference to others. I’ve watched it several times. And I know her parents didn’t label her which is amazing… but she said clearly that she recognised she was an “autist” in her words. It’s nothing to be ashamed of. It’s clearly her strength. She’s accepted that she’s been put together in such a way that works nicely. She’s empowered in her self whatever that is. And more power to her. Peace.
@@rosemay75 agree with you that it’s nothing to be ashamed off🥰maybe the translation was off, I just listen to what she said, I am Norwegian, so I didn’t see the translation. But she has never said anything about being on the spectrum. She just said the other kids thought she was, and teased her for it. She may be, she might not be🤷♀️nothing wrong ether way..🥰

Oh, and Ginger, I believe in the Haik Documentary Aurora says that when she was young some thought she was Autistic because she was strange and did well on her Mensa test. Technically, I don't think she is Autistic. (Not that there is anything wrong with being Autistic) Just wanted to share that piece of information. I just think she is extremely unique and one of a kind.

The Masks are not clown masks. It's a metaphor for people hiding behind their true feelings and telling people what to do yet they have the black face on of fear. Notice she's the only one without a mask she's giving the message something like what you guys were saying so that was the message and that's why it's the metaphor people with the mask the ones not letting themselves be free.
