HOW TO APPLY AS COURT STENOGRAPHER (IMPROVED AUDIO)

- In this video, I briefly talked about how to become a public servant by joining the Philippine Judiciary as Court Stenographer.
I shortly enumerated the four primary requirements in this line of career.

I'm an average Grade 11 student na di pa maka-decide sa kukuning career, and since junior high sa PUP Sta. Mesa din po ako (hehe Proud Isko). Kakapalan ko na po mukha ko at sasabihing, stenography has always been a passion for me since napag-aralan namin since Grade 8, so talagang nakakatuwa po't may mga tulad ninyo na willing magbigay alam sa mga interested pasukin ang career na yan. Labis po kitang hinahangaan at pinasasalamatan dahil doon ^^
Nabuhayan po ako ng loob lalo na't madami na ang nagdududa sa demand ng stenographers at sinasabing "may mga recording devices naman, what's the use of stenographers?" kaya again, marami pong salamat.
Although I have a few questions po...
- nabanggit mo po na 1 year temporary ang iyong trabaho diyan, do you plan on shifting to another career tulad ng sinabi mo po?
- sa video na-highlight po ang advantages as a stenographer, maaari po bang magbigay ng iilang cons?
- kung maaari pong sabihin, magkano po ang approximate salary jan? kada trials po ba ang bayad or monthly?
- what were the things you wish you knew bago ka maging court stenographer?
- kamusta naman po kayo jan sa kasalukuyan?

This is truly informative, thank you so much for sharing! By the way, when you say 2 years in college it should be 1st and 2nd year in college, correct? How about those who completed the 72 units in college but, were able to take the old and new curriculum of 1st year in college in two different schools? Would it suffice the said requirements as Court Stenographer 1? Hope this query will be able to answer as I am planning to apply for the said post however, I am not able to reach my second year in college, thank you again, and more power!
You must be graduate of any 2-year course, that's what I meant.

Proud Court Stenographer (contractual) here from RTC Manila! 2 years na ako last March, sadly hindi pa ko nakakapagpasa ng application for permanency since back to ECQ na naman 😣 Sana mabilis lang yung process, sobrang hirap maging contractual stenographer.

Is it really stressful as a court stenographer at the beginning? How to adjust with the working environment?
The only stressful is the pressure, but if you manage to overcome that, it becomes less stressful. Backlogs also add up to ur stress as a Stenographer, kaya napakahalaga na huwag magpadami ng pending transcripts.

Thank you for watching! Glad you liked it. The speed of the examination for aspiring Stenographer depends on the examiner. But, at least considering practicing at the speed of 80-100wpm.

Hello po, Education graduate po ako. Licensed na din po. Gusto ko po sana mag apply. Ngayon ko lang po kasi nalaman yung ganitong work. Wala pa po akong gaanong alam sa stenography kasi po nanunuod nuod lang ako dito sa youtube. Need ko pa po bang mag aral ulit about steno writing? Hello! Thanks for watching! Kung mag-aapply ka as Stenographer, it's basic na dapat marunong ka sa Steno kasi 'yan ang gagamitin mo sa work. You can apply pa rin naman kahit wala kang formal study on Stenography, pero mejo challenging. Good thing for u though is that u r already eligible for a government job.

As long as you can take dictations and able to transcribe, that should do it. 2) yes may mga gumagamit ng machine shorthand sa RTC, CA, at SC

Kahit alin dun sa dalawa pwede as long as na nababasa at nasusulat mo. Para kapag pinag-dictate ka ng Judge eh makakasagot ka.

Court proceedings are generally in the English language. However, if mag-request ang lawyers na mag-Tagalog during a trial proper, it's upon the Court kung ia-approve. If in-allow ng Court, what I do if Tagalog ang proceedings, I write them in Steno in English. Then ang transcription ko ay Tagalog.

Yes, 2 years sa RTC for regular position. Just comply lang sa requirements during those 2 yrs. Kung gusto mo talaga ang maging Stenographer, 2 yrs is worth the wait.

1st things 1st. Pass civil service exam (pro or non-pro). 2ndly, ang exam sa branch or court kung saan ka mag-aapply varies. Pero ang standard is dictation of any piece consisting of 300 or more words and transcribing them. My tip? Practice ur Steno particularly on the common legal terms used in courts. Practice until ur confident u can ace every dictation exam.

Yes, Mickey, but you have to obtain eligibility within the probationary period, otherwise, you will not be regularized. I would say though that it is better to have your eligibility prior to your application.

Hello sir! I'm a teacher graduate and have obtained my license to teach in public schools. The thing is, a friend of mine has told me about being a stenographer and it got me intrigued. So if i want to pursue stenography, do i have to study bachelor of science in office administration and then later take up a stenography exam? Thanks so much!

Hello, Nikki! No need to take up Office Ad. If u did not have any Stenography subject during college, dun ka na lang mag invest. May mga short courses naman for that. No need na rin kumuha ng civil service Stenographer exam dhl may eligibility ka na which is ur LET. The only steno exam u will take is the dictation to be administered by the branch of court you'd be applying at. Hope that answers ur concern.
