After a play thru last year I had a great morning saying Pakawa! as a replacement name for various people and objects after a while I stopped but it was kinda more fun than the play thru I must say that the magazine pics back in the day had me really salivating for this game
@@InglebardGaming I used to clear ninja God just by mashing up forward and k. Just like how I'd beat Shao Kahn in MK2. My Jag controller didn't make using special moves all that viable.

This was a release day purchase for me. Was I let down? only sorta... I never had a high bar for Jaguar titles so I wasn't expecting much. I didn't hate it, but I didn't invite all my friends to come over and check it out either. I Just quietly put it on the shelf.. Great video btw
Thanks, appreciate it! I've always had a bit of a soft spot for this one despite its flaws and my expectations, like yours, were not super high. It's not good, but its not as awful as a lot of people say, either.
I guess this game has become a meme over the years but honestly it doesn't look that bad. Worth a shot in BigPEmu for sure. I don't know much about the Jag (well "where did you learn to fly?" of AVGN fame and not much else..). In Italy it was uncommon to spot one back then, it looks like Atari prioritised the American market and Europe was more of an afterthought. Which seems strange because the ST had kept the Atari name relevant here. What was the last popular Atari system in America up to that point? I guess the 2600!
Yeah, after the 2600, nothing from Atari made much of an impact here. The Jag was a bundle of wasted potential, Atari just didn't have the business acumen or ties that it needed to make it a success.
Complete Trash is just the name of the series, I explained throughout the video while it's not exactly a GOOD game, it isn't as awful as most people say it is, either.
Ah, some Jaguar goodness. Nice one. By the way, you don't need to walk up to the player you want to select, select will work if you just turn in the direction of them an then press the button. You'll have to run to the exit, however. So that select screen never bothered me at all. The graphics and linescrolling and different background layers are nice, especially the golden Buddha setting. Too bad some minor things, like the fisherboat in Scotland, look really cheap and almost C64-ish in contrast. But oh well, as you said, it's fun for two players. Not a bad game, not awesome as well. Just kind of meh. Cheers!
I probably knew that at some point and forgot, lol. Still, a normal character select screen followed by one enemy after another without picking characters in between would have been better.
this might be a trash game for me but I guess it's one of the few decent Jaguar games, it's the one I keep hearing as the most prominent from the Jaguar. Not so long ago I watched an AVGN video where Macaulay Culkin was raving about this game.

This game get waaay more hate than it deserves. The humour is kind of subtle so it makes you laugh because you think it's speshul. But it's just Naughty Dog giving a present to their favourite company by some young devs who look like they can really put together something very solid quickly on a game console designed like the a puzzle box. Lovely clean graphics and colours. Typography and the rest they obviously didn't have the budget for. Title is the problem here. It sounds serious, but it's actually not. There is an unreleased game by Taito or some such company so unbelievably botched and unreleased. It's alot worse than this.

I loved it, it was just fun and the graphics were good.
I never loved it, but I enjoyed it and can see it appealing to some gamers. Unlike Ultra Vortek which I hate, lol.

Pakawa!
Single player is kinda weak since the AI can’t stop jump kicks.
In my experience it's pretty adept at avoiding them, especially on Ninja God difficulty. Except for the last boss, that is!

This was my only Jaguar game for YEARS lol

Ahh mate. Absolutely adore this type of content you do; good job teacher!
Glad you liked it!
I mean that even looks like the font from the home ports of MKII! I suppose it might be more fun than Rise of the Robots, at least.
It's MUCH better than Rise or Rise 2, it at least has that going for it!

I don't think it is complete trash. It is creative and looks good. It plays reasonably. I am not a big fighting game fan though.

This game is a masterpiece when compared to Shadow: War of Succession on the panasonic 3do.😂

Most people seem to hate it. I find it a fun, but flawed, glimpse into the kind of stuff the Jag should have had more of.
I always thought that this game had rather nice visuals but then again I thought that shaq fu had impressive graphics so what do I know?
Ha, well it DOES look pretty good, visually it isn't all that far off from the arcade MK games.

Yup, definitely a bit over-hated, IMO.
