I think Kuh Ledesma is just explaining the technical aspect of singing. Singing is an art of expressing words and musical notes into emotions. Emotion is essential when singjng.

Syempre hindi naman lahat feel sila, kilala sila o ang music nila. Napansin ko esp sa ilang veterans they seem to feel slighted kapag ganun kaya yung emerging/viral artists like Stell is somewhat put or placed in a bad light. In fairness to him, di lang naman sya puro birit. He is also exceptionally good in singing tender, gentle notes.
It seems she is speaking in general and not being specific to Stell's performance but that will not stop me from pointing out my opinions: 1. The high note part is the highlight of the song - the MOST ANTICIPATED PART, I can't imagine that part being sung in lower key. If you cannot nail that part of the song then it is not THE SONG. Because the high note on that part is what makes that song THE SONG. 2. Stell was praised not because he can simply belt but because he belted in HIGHER FEMALE KEY which for me is a ONCE IN A GENERATION TALENT which Ms Kuh failed to appreciate. I mean how many male singers here in our country or even out there in the world in today's generation who has a range like Stell's (I can only name 2 who are famous). Even international reactors who are vocal singers and coaches recognizes this talent. 3. Stell's vocal tone is very beautiful and expressive whether in low notes or high notes. He noted that if there was one song he would have wished it was composed and arranged by him, he pointed out GENTO of SB19. Obviously then his benchmark for a great OPM song is realistically grounded to today's music culture. Take note that in the latest concert GEN-C, (a concert honoring Maestro Cayabyab) some of the premiere OPM idols like Celeste Legaspi, Regine Velasguez, Basil Valdes etc,,, were there to welcome the new generation of OPM artists to sing the songs of Maestro Cayabyab. Its so sad to note that Ms. KUH was unable to take time to attend it, Now what was wonderful about this GEN C was to promote .> pagmamahal, pagkakaibigan at respeto sa craft ng both elder OPM artist and the new generation. I wonder if Kuh even got to watch Stell's performance in The Hitman: David Foster & Friends World Tour Manila leg. Vocal coaches from all over the world who know more about vocal techniques, placements, shifts, musical keys and other technical aspects have nothing but rave reviews for Stell's performance of All By Myself. Even music icons and composers like the Hitman David Foster himself and Maestro Ryan Cayabyab are nothing short of impressed. Not to mention the stunned reaction of Lea Salonga who's a Tony Awardee and the voice behind several Disney soundtracks (she was also bowled over by Stell's performance of Sometime, Somewhere in the Gen C concert). And Kuh only talked about female singers who are known for their birit power. But we are talking about a song sung by a male in high female keys which some female biriteras probably couldn't do justice to the song and match Stell's rendition, where he was able to bring out the emotions that gave a lot of people the goosebumps and hit the climactic high notes without hurting the ears. Regine Velasquez, whom Kuh mentioned, has high praises for Stell and his Ppop group SB19; they've collabed on Hanggang Sa Huli on ASAP and Regine threw her full support to the group by guesting in one of their concerts. I don’t think she heard or watched Stell’s performance at all. “All By Myself” REQUIRES a “birit” because of how high the notes are. I don’t remember hearing a “sigaw” or “pagyayabang” from Stell. I don’t think she heard or watched Stell’s performance at all. “All By Myself” REQUIRES a “birit” because of how high the notes are. I don’t remember hearing a “sigaw” or “pagyayabang” from Stell. I mean, the song was originally sang by Celine Dion, a powerhouse from Canada. Hasn’t she heard Celine sing? SMH

Im a fan of her but im quite disappointed sa answer niya. Si Stell ang tinatanong sa kanya pero in general ang sagot niya. Meaning ba di siya nagandahan sa rendition ni Stell o hindi niya napanaood? Kung di siya nagandahan... how come while vocal coaches here and abroad were wowed by Stell. Di naman nya pwedeng sabihin na kulang sa emotion. And with that facial expression? 😏

Ang tanong sa kanya about Stell. Sana sinabi nya kung napanood niya o hindi para di nainsinuate na kasama si Stell dun lalo may mentioned names siya and Stell was nit included. I'm a fan of Kuh but im quite disappointed sa answer niya lalo ganun pa ang facial expression nya.
