Epic 300km Adventure - Thailand Motorbike Tour Episode 7

- I covered over 300km today on my Honda ADV 160 and saw dinosaurs and tanks in Issan on the Thailand motorbike tour, this is Episode 7. Join me for a day full of surprises and interesting sights. We start the day off leaving the city of Phetchabun. My first stop is the Phetchabun Weapons Museum. This is a tiny little outdoor museum with a million dollar view. Next, we look for the Giant Gorilla of Khao Koh. However, Google has totally wrong coordinates for this location and actually has the wrong photos attached. It is actually almost 7 kilometers away from the Google maps pin. Unfortunately it was closed, but I got to see some giant windmills and it was a nice drive. Up next was the much talked about Road 2331. It was garbage, so many potholes and cruddy pavement repairs, just avoid it. HOWEVER, the viewpoint at the top was well worth the bad road. After a quick lunch with an amazing view of the valley, I headed off to the city of Loei where I finally found myself a hotel to spend the night. Over 6 hours of riding today, but it was fun!

I think what I love about your channel the most is how clean and simple you keep it. Nothing raunchy or disgusting and no swearing. I love it! You let your adventure shine through.. thanks Serge!!❤❤❤
Oh, there’s plenty of swearing, it just doesn’t make the final cut. Ha ha. Glad you’re enjoying my videos.
Welcome to my hometown, PetchBun 😊
Really liked it there!
Thank you!
😎👍🇺🇲
Excellent work my friend.
Almost every good riding story I have in my head. Is mostly what happened along the way. It truly is "getting there is more than half the fun".
My best memories are the most F'ed up situations and disasters.
This what adventuring is all about. It's about filling the memory banks with fun stories and pushing out stress and useless information.
$.30 for the Green scrap metal walk around, awesome 👍
In my opinion, that was a win.
I've never had a fantastic momo adventure when everything went flawlessly. If I did, I don't remember it.
That's the key. The memorable ones are so screwed up and "laugh about it later" fun.
Cheers brother ✌️
You’re absolutely right. Things do, and will go wrong. And most of the time it’s nothing major and just adds to the experience.
Thx Serg for finding so much evidence for Thai dancing dinosaurs in Egypt. Need to get Science Magazine out there ASAP.
LOL
Yes, it’s a new discovery.
Thanks!
Thank you!
RTAF's O-1 and O-2A were use as target reconnaissance aircraft during the comunist war, they attached 2.75" smoke rocket for other bomber and fighter to fire rocket and drop bomb, the reason was they fly so slow and can aim so steady and percite, that's what I learn from my Thai cadet year, LoL!, great vlog and nice to see you got lost again mate!
Ps. +100 for the cat!
Yeah, this is pretty interesting. However the Thai royal Air Force Museum has really been my favorite military museum that I visited in Thailand so far. Glad you enjoyed this episode!
Nice video Serg! The views were really beautiful on this leg of your tour.
Yeah, these views were great. The mountain regions have been my favorite areas so far for sure!
The OG Killdozer!😍
Damn right!! I even recorded a clip talking a bit abort it, but decided to plot it. TH-cam can be “picky”
Thanks!
Nice vlog Mate ❤
Glad you enjoyed it!
i was there a few months ago too. nice little history for the khao kho region, which, otherwise has nothing much to "do".
just 1. romantic/ relaxing accomodations. 2. scenic cafes.
still khao kho is nice to go relax and just spend some time in the 'cooler' region of thailand.
You’re absolutely right. I will come back and visit next time I’m in the area.
Yes so nice!
Mannn....your ride , Great scooter!! I am impress. 😁
Yes love it!
You were up in the mountain at a place called Phu Taberk ( spelt various ways)
I'm up there often for the cool weather and even slept in my car to experience an air conditioned free night.
This place is about 2 hours from my home, great vlog Serg, I think that's the first dog I've also seen refuse food lol
i’ve had lots of dogs refuse this type of package dog food. It’s really quite strange. They must be getting fed pretty well if they’re not interested. That was a beautiful area!
Nice to see you.😊❤
Hello 😊
Hey Serg, glad you enjoyed Phetchabun. I have an ADV 350 that I ride on in Khao Kho all the time. Would have been nice to go on a ride with you there. If you are ever back this way hopefully we can go for a ride.
I will definitely keep that in mind, thanks for the invite
@@LifewithSerg you’re welcome. Phetchabun and Khao Kho are magical places.
do you prefer the ADV 350 over the 160?
Thank you.
soak it ALL in Serg, when in the rat race people do not often "stop to smell the coffee" or in your case watch the butterflies. when i have all the time in the world i will pay attention to every detail, the finer things in life we take for granted when people are constantly hustling to get by.
You are so correct
Already waiting for the Next Episode!!!! Dont forget to take it easy! and be careful!!
I will hopefully have the next episode up tomorrow. There are three more videos in this series. I am very much safe and sound at this point. Thank you so much for your concern.
Safe travels bro ❤
Thank you!

Thank you!
I’ve never been to that museum, very cool. I’m glad you saw the wind farm. They have a really nice market. Beautiful and huge garden there but I realize it may have been pretty crowded. That restaurant is typically open at night, but I’m glad you got to see King Kong. Beautiful drive. Great video.
Getting lost is always half the fun.
Hi Serg, A recent viewer to your channel, enjoying all the travels. As an ex GS1200 rider, it brings back memories of the great rides i did with my mates. Its a same you missed out on spending a night or two in Chiang Khan, you were so close at the Skywalk. It's got so much history, and is so unspoilt. Next time you're in the area, stop by my farm for a few roadies... Thanks for sharing your adventures !
Having on three of those BMWs, that’s definitely a phenomenal bike. As it turned out, the fact that I skipped Chiang Khan was a blessing in disguise. Had I stayed there for two nights like I intended I would’ve gotten caught in the flooding up in Nong Khai. So in hindsight, it really worked out.
Good video seemed like most of the turns were 💩 EEE . Beautiful view looks like the air wasn’t too smoky
I’ve had some amazing roads on this trip.
@@LifewithSerg I can’t wait for my trip , watching your videos is making me antsy
Laughed at the King Kong attraction...I guess there was a reason it was closed...Safe travels..Matt & Lucy
Trust me when I see this, I was just excited that I was able to find it. 🤪
You disturbed the cat when it was doing its business ,no wonder it was pissed off
lol. Most likely. He wanted nothing to do with me.
Fantastic video! Jts geeat to see lots of places I have not seen.
Thanks, more to come.
Thanks for sharing your journey Serge! That was funny the dog didn't want the dog food haha, maybe they want rice? 😄 Safe travels~
This is probably the third or fourth time dogs have refused this dog food. Fortunately I bought a bunch of it when it was 60% off so no big loss.
@@LifewithSerg good deal! I'm sure there will be some dogs out there that'll appreciate the treats hehe
Thanks for the vids, is fun watching how it is in the north while i myself am driving more and more south haha :D
Glad you enjoy it!
Great trip!.... Episode7 is fab! ❤❤😊😊😊😊😊
Glad you enjoyed it. I have three more to finish off the series.
Taking a similar trip that March. In a car. My bike riding skills aren’t up par😂
You will still love it. Enjoy.
But but but, I thought I was your monkey......
Hehe good video handsome! 🐷🐻
You sure are Monica! The best monkey ever.
Another great video, thanks Serg
Glad you enjoyed it
Wow this will be awesome :D
Enjoy!
@@LifewithSerg Thank your
Nothing can stop you
The weather might. Ha ha
Stopped at King Kong Cafe about a month ago, great coffee other wise you didnt miss much.
Yeah, I know, but the fact that I actually managed to find it with googles incorrect marker, really made me wanna go stand on those stairs
the drop from the window is crazy! no sleep walking i hope haha
Safety is always 13th in Thailand. Common sense is 17th. 🤣😂
Hey Serg, we were wondering if you could include in your videos a map that draws the route you take or shows a line from Bangkok to your video destination. Or may in the North East videos have the map with a line from Chiang Mai to your video destination... does that make sense? We know youput links in the description but that is a pain when watching on the TV. Once again loved the video, I cannot wait to get back but still have some medical stuff to get done here in Australia first
Yeah, I know exactly what you’re talking about. I’ll try to include that in future motorbike videos.
Google Lens works great on those pesky Thai signs 😂
Not while riding. Lol
@@LifewithSerg but good at the museums. Keep the videos coming!
I miss the views from Northern Thailand. There's only one solution, travel back to this great country :)
Yes it’s great!
Interesting little museum if passing. The Huey was Vietnam era, but not Korea era, first produced for the US military in 1960.
Yeah, I said that the Huey was Vietnam era. Cute little museum for sure, but only worthwhile visiting if you’re in the area. I
Been waiting for a new loei video on youtube for so long. Wish there was a way i could share an amazing noodle shop place to you in muang loei.
I appreciate the offer, but I am long gone out of that area
@@LifewithSerg hope you had a nice safe stay in loei
Beautiful view 🎉🎉🎉
Yes it really was
Download offline maps, solves the problem of no signal
Yeah, right after I recorded that clip, I realize I had already done that.
I did the MHS loop a couple of times, and I was baffled by the dudes with cameras lurking in the bushes at the corners...kinda creepy, I thought. Good to know that they are just trying to sell me a pic of me...(there were many conspiracy theories that I came up with to explain). Lol
Hey, you and me both. But after a while, I started noticing they all had some kind of Facebook signs.
If you’re comfortable conversing with the local Thai’s, asking for directions could open up more fun adventures for you. Even if they don’t speak English. Your Thai’s is not bad and you can always use ‘convention’ mode on Google translate.
I didn’t put it in this video because it was already too long, but I did ask one lady and she gave me some directions in Thai. Next time I will try to leave it in the video because it’s more interesting.
20:57 this part freaks me out!
Yeah weird!
It's strange the wealthy Thai's never built holiday communities in the mountains for the cooler temps, like the wealthy did in Europe and South America. The colonial French built Bà Nà Hill Station in Vietnam to escape the heat, and the Brits had several in India, including Darjeeling.
Actually, our place has come up, but they’re all hotels. If you’re talking about permanent residences, that’s a very good point. I don’t think I’ve seen any on any of my tours.
Government wants to keep mountains reserved as national parks or forest parks so no large development on the mountains in Thailand.
You have to come from early January to February, which is the winter time when you will see mountain cherry blossoms ( Sakura mountain ) and maple leaves blooming on the mountains in Phetchabun Province.🤗😊🫰❤⛄️🌸💮🍁🍁
I just wanted to try one through during this rainy season. I will come back in the future.
You have a deep knowledge in military weapons.
I just like machines. 🙃😊
Who would have thought person sitting in India will see USA person talking to Thailand cat 😂
Ha ha ha. Meow!
Yes this is not a good time to do this. 55

Thank you!
love
Thanks!
even after 3 trips to BKK and one stay for 30 days for dental i still had trouble just eating anywhere,, i got hammered with trips to the toilet every 15 minutes even after drinking juices. Most Pools in Motels are beautifull and great after a humid trip.
It took me about 2 months to adjust.
Khao Kho was an actual firebase that provides supporting fire INSIDE Thailand during the pacification campaign against communist guerrilla.
Ah good to know. Thanks for sharing.
Serg, what was the name of the town you stayed at the end of the video? Somehow missed that. The room seemed great for only $22!
Loei. It was a great little town. I actually found a really good sushi place there. Will definitely have to come back and spend some more time in that town.
I worked on the helicopter in Vietnam
Oh wow.
8 more days till my big move from west coast Canada to Bangkok!
Congratulations!
I love watching your adventures!! I think that dog wanted pets.. he wagged his tail to you. He needs some attention ❤❤ Going to keep watching!! 😊
Yeah he did not want my dog food. Ha ha
Thank you very much
Enjoying your journey but off topic question. I've heard you say thank you in numerous videos that I'm sure is more common than the usual kob kuhn krup. What exactly are you saying in thai? I'm trying to hone my thai speaking skills
There’s so many variations sometimes you’ll hear me add “na” before krup. That’s just a more polite way of saying thank you. And there’s also a short version of the whole thing which kind of sounds like “cup-on”. More of a “thanks. but honestly, I’m the last person you should ask, my Thai is extremely limited. Much more than it should be after 2 1/2 years of living here. 😬
@LifewithSerg Thank you. I appreciate your reply. Be safe and I look forward to your next video.
Wow
Fun times.

5:44 Why are there coins on the seat
Maybe for good luck. Thai people are very superstitious.
There is recorded evidence that some bird dog pilots attached rocket projectiles to the underlying wing for striking enemy positions.
Ah makes sense. These were tubes, hung by chain, definitely fake.

My dog hates that stuff
I’ve had about four or five different dogs rejected. Definitely not buying it again.
all you need is a bum-gun
Lolll
Bro if you can go back to Bangkok now the big flood is coming in Northern middle part of Thailand where you travel even Bangkok might not be save too
Yes I’m safe, thank you for your concern.
You know you can use a smart phone camera to translate to english?
Yes of course. However, this is not the History channel, so I’m not going that deep. It’s a lighthearted tour. Nothing too serious.
You’re absolutely correct! I’ve seen these dogs being fed rice and other human food. So of course he was not interested in this dog food. 🤣😂
Why did you move to Thailand and not live in the United States? Because I heard don’t Americans love their country very much? Aren’t Americans proud to be Americans?
During the pandemic, I realized that I needed a big change. I had visited in Thailand once before, and really liked the quieter and slower pace of life. Of course I’m proud to be an American, that has nothing to do with it. I just felt like it was time to live abroad.
This place is not famous for foreign tourists , Whyyyyyyyyyyy
I don’t know.
