- Kati from Utalk Radio chatted with MMA Fighter Rose Namajunas on the Orange Carpet at the 2018 Nickelodeon Kids Choice Sports Awards. Rose was a nominee for Biggest Powerhouse of the year. She told Kati how she got started in the MMA World and used Martial Arts as a positive activity to empower herself. She had some great advice about how to “humble a bully” using what someone is trying to attack or bully you with to your advantage and waiting for the right moment to “fight back”. why so bad backfocus?
I like this chick, but i don't think she should be a role model for kids. Like for real if you beat people in the face for a living, you should probably just tell kids things like, study hard, work hard, dont do drugs, stay out of trouble, and listen to your parents or guardians. NOT, "go watch my video on youtube about me being bullied and I went mental and trained and beat the crap out of my bully" Your actually supposed to teach kids to be better than that. Violence is never the answer and the fact that we live in a society where It's considered a sport, and these people are famous, have jobs and are paraded as heroes, is a testament to how sick in the head we all are. All I'm trying to say is don't give kids shit advice.
When you think about it, your comment is contradictory. You say hide the violent world from kids, yet at the same time you conclude we are all sick in the head - is it really a good advice then to let kids grow up not being able to protect themselves in a world where everyone is sick in the head? One of my biggest regrets is not getting into martial arts while I was young, and being afraid to stand up for myself when I should have.
