  • It's time for me to do some simple and basic maintenance on the Flashforge Adventurer 5M. I'm not going to do anything remotely complicated. For now, it's all about cleanliness, and lubrication.

Good Question and hopefully have a better zoomed in video for the belt adjustment... As this one didn't show up close on the greasing...
Good tips though 👍😎👉 I dust mine before every printing session, clean and reglue the bed plate too...

Thank you for showing off this printer in your videos. Just received it yesterday (Amazon) and wow, I am incredibly impressed. In February I got my first 3D printer, a Sovol SV07+, then spent 2 months fixing its little issues (had to redesign the parts cooling system completely) and then tweaking material profiles to accommodate for the changes to cooling - PETG was interesting. But this machine? Prints fantastically right out of the box. So now the other machine will be saved for the bigger pieces, and this one can do most of the work. Not a single failed job yet, and now I'm tweaking the TPU profile in Orca in order to make some custom motorcycle parts for my stepfather.

My Adventurer 5M will be here Thursday. Can't wait! My Ender 3 Pro is still going but man is it aggravating to keep level (even after many upgrades). I even installed the micro swiss direct drive extruder. It prints much better but getting the machine level is a beast (even with nylon spacers instead of those springs).
Your videos are extremely helpful and really made my decision to "upgrade" even easier. I'll still run both but will do heavy duty printing on the 5M and lighter stuff on the Ender 3 Pro. New subscriber! (LOVE the Back to the Future plates!)

Ditto. Just got my 5M yesterday. It's going to be my workhorse machine, and the SV07+ will be saved for the bigger jobs. Flashforge really upped their game. I don't miss bed leveling (with those stone-age wheels to turn) one bit.

Great video man. I need to find you the link to a lub nozzle that helps when adding. I had my first experiance having to take the Extruder apart, had a bad jam at the mouth of th extruder. Could not push it through so I disassembled the xtruder a bit. Just a note that its not that hard to fix that issue. Just remove the top of the extruder, then the main board of the extruder..making sure you are careful unplugging things. Once removed the extruder and fan will slide out together. Behing the assembly is a big gear that I just had to turn to extract a pretty good size peice. Then I just reassembled and it was all good.

Hey, great content you're producing. We got four 5m pro printers for my school and i had quite some struggling with them with bad quality, IF the prints sticked to the bed. Now with the golden PEI i'm more or less satisfied with the quality. Yet, could you please make a video about how you calibrated your printer with some of your filament? I still have some "pressed out" filament in some overhang prints, but not on all of the printers... Maybe i get a hang of it with more calibration...
Thank you so much for your work.

Was the golden PEI a change from something previous? I just got a new 5M from Amazon yesterday. Out of the box it has been printing amazingly with a 0% failure rate, and about twice as fast as the SV07+ that I spent months improving.

Hi I have the 5M As well. Just wanted you to know something I tried. I'm sure it's been done, but this saved several of my important prints. I pause the print on the 1st good layer and place that really cheap thin packing tape on just the edge of the print, pressing it down, forming over the print edge. This I garinte will save your questionable print to completion.the little bit of tape simply pulls out of the edge on completion

    Step 1: Dust cobwebs
    Step 2: Thoroughly grease rod
    Step 3:Turn it on
Step 4: Don't neglect the nozzle
    Step 5: Move along axis
    Got it.

Do you think it would be acceptable to use wd-40 specialist dry lube with PTFE for the lubrication instead of grease?

any idea how to adjust the belts?

    • @FigureFeedback
      @FigureFeedback  หลายเดือนก่อน +3

There are 4 belt tension adjusting screws on the back of the printer. They are slightly recessed into the case. You can tighten or loosen them with an Allen wrench.

@@FigureFeedback My only wish for those is a label on them showing which screws tighten which belts. But I will print my own shortly :)

Good info, thanks! now a question...
Jeremy, you've had your 5m for about 2 months I'm guessing. Have you had to replace the nozzle assembly yet?
I've had my 5m for 2 weeks and just now, at 57 hrs, the machine had a nozzle heater failure. Definitely the heater, thermocouple works fine. What lifespan should we expect from the nozzle assy? Fortunately I purchased a spare 0.4 so I'm still printing. maybe I should buy a few more? Thanks!

That's correct. I use blue Dawn dish soap and dry it with a soft cloth.
