It is so difficult to find people who do genuine reactions recently so I'm very glad I found you. In a lot of their earlier dance practices its usually JK wearing the timberlands , Jimin and RM on occasion as well. There are dance practices that are just fun vibes they do their moves but they goof off and then there are straight out full on practices, the goofing off ones are so much fun. Like others have said yes they have a main choreographer , but Jhope helps out with teaching because he is the main dancer and dance leader and he also adds moves of his own sometimes. Jhope is amazing he knows absolutely where each and every member needs to be in every song and they joke about when they mess up they don't want to look at jhope because he would always know and just stare at them. The one you were wondering if he was a break dancer, yes he did do some in middle school he learned pop and lock and was very good, but he moved to contemporary dance in high school when he attended a dance academy , when you get to the see more of the dancing you will see Jimin in his element for sure. There are going to be people out there who are going to criticize new reactors who start reacting to BTS and thats no fair you are not the only who has addressed this. I'd say 99% are genuine wanting to learn and the 1% you can tell they don't care so just do you and we will be here helping you along the way. I really enjoy your open mindness and enthusiasm so thanks for that, ill stop now ive blabbed too long lol.

One of the things I’ve come to notice about Jimin’s dancing that sets him apart is the way he takes all his moves right to the fingertips. No body movements with loose hands for him. I imagine this is yhe result of his formal dance training. And yes, his movements are smooth but very ‘sharp’ and controlled.

They have an in house choreographer that has been with them since the beginning (Son Sungdeuk) and he's also their performance director I believe. They also work with other choreographers like for this song his name is "Keone Madrid" and many others as the years go by. Also as the dance leader J-hope has a heavy hand in their choreo when it comes to performances, he tells them how hard they should go and changes up the formations based on the event and the stage. The guys truly respect him as a dancer and take his words seriously, if J-hope said you did a good job, you did a bloody good job. He's the one you pointed out for facial expressions, if you're looking for theatrics and expressions during performances def look for V and J-hope they'll give it to you and more!!
In Korea masks are a part of hygiene culture even before the pandemic and for keeping anonymity, so in alot of K-pop videos you'll see the backup dancers wearing some form of face covering.
you're going to freak for the Dionysus dance practice and the Not Today dance practice, easily in my Top 5.💜💜

Face coverings for the BTS backup dancers are common - it helps keep the focus on the members of BTS. Even if BTS is wearing clothing similar to the dancers, they'll still stand out and not get lost in the crowd if they're the only ones with faces showing
The pop & lock sharp dancer is Jimin. He came to BTS as the only member with extensive formal dance training - probably already had 6 years of study under his belt by the time he joined in early 2013, primarily in contemporary dance but also had learned pop/locking.
RM was born in 9/1994, so he was only 21 when 'Fire' was released
With all their hard breathing at the end, it's even more amazing that they do these dances live *while also singing the song*
Your authenticity shines thru, never fear. ARMYs are pretty sharp at spotting a numbers-chaser. They aren't as great at acting as they think, and will be over-the-top flattering to BTS in just the first 10 seconds of a video - I feel embarrassed for them and quickly move on

Yes! I about died when you got so jacked when V turned the camera lol! Their dance practices go hard every time! You think the foot stomping was something in this one wait until you watch the Not today dance practice! They were stomping so hard it made the camera move from across the gymnasium they were filming it in 😂. Also glad you noticed the relation between the beat saber motions and the dance moves and I think you’ll notice it in other songs as well. Since several people have already mentioned in detail Son Song-deuk (in house choreographer) as well as Jimin’s contemporary dance and J-hope’s street dance, there’s not much more to add yet. That being said though, you’re absolutely right regarding the difference between googling the info opposed to asking us…asking us will definitely give you more detailed insight from various aspects. Lastly, I’d like to see anyone say you are reacting to BTS for the views! Being one of the people who reacted to your first BTS beat saber video (and every one after that 😂) I was wholeheartedly on board with other ARMY urging you to react to BTS. Let me just add that this amazing man, Son Sungdeuk, the resident/ in-house choreographer is also their performance director. So he does not just choreograph, but also has a hand on stages, formations, etc. And boy.. Those stages are really, reaally, reaaaaaallly, god-tier. Im still reeling from their latest Black Swan stage in the Permission to Dance Concert. Eniwei..
There are still instances when they would actually seek out choreographers outside Big Hit. IF i remember correctly, Keone Madrid was also one of the choreogrphers for Fire. But I think the in-house choreographer and these "cats" ( i love it when you call BTS cats), would still have the final say on what they put out. In future vids, you will see how hard they work and how they would often put their own touches in their performances.

Haha, I had so much fun watching along with you.😁 That's what I need from a reaction - genuine enjoyment, curiosity and interesting thoughts on what you've just seen. Thank you for addressing the comments you got regarding the way BTS express their love for each other. In addition to a more expressive Korean culture, they also started out sharing one bathroom and sleeping in 7 bunk-beds, so they have no barriers with each other anymore and by the stars how we enjoy seeing them express that.💜 But as you said, ARMY men and women have had many run-ins with toxic masculinity and we tend to be careful with our trust. You don't seem like a man who'd crack a racist, homophobic, sexist or ageist joke for entertainment value, though, so I think you'll do just fine.😊
Eventually, as usual 😑, some people might turn up and try to control you - either through mean messages or passive-agressive comments. Or lies that suit their agendas as solo-fans or antis. If it happens, just bring it out in the light and talk about it. You seem like a man who can shrug it off, but you don't have to sit with alone - we are here for the journey with you.😊 Watching people discover BTS is like falling in love again by proxy and we will help you to the best of our ability to ensure it's fun and wonderful. 💜
You do you. It's one of BTS's key messages and an ARMY value. But ARMY are demanding in our enthusiasm, so don't let us pressure you too much, hehe.😂 Oh, and we might get into heated debates in the comment section about theories, who said what when etc. but please don't mind. ARMY are loud. Very loud. 🤣

"IS MY BOY WEARING CHUCK TAYLORS? We just talked about this!" omg I laughed so hard! Their in-house choreographer has always been a man named Son Sungdeuk, and at some point he was promoted to their overall performance director. They also work with other chorographers. Several of the members love dancer Brian Puspos and have made videos covering his choreo just for fun, and he's now choreographed several official BTS dances, one of which was Jungkook's solo song called My Time. Puspos has shared that he was hired to create the choreo for the song but when he saw the live performance, only parts of his choreo made it into the final. Later Jungkook also revealed he'd choregraphed some of it himself. The way Puspos described it, it sounds like that must be common for the artists to hire a choreo and then just use it as a base to further develop in-house.

RM (your guy) would have been 21 international age (Korean age is different, they say you are 1 year old when born and you add a year to your age every January 1st, so RM would have been considered 23 in Korea at this time)
Don’t worry you come off very genuine, if anyone tells you otherwise that person is a hater.
On the subject of culture I think is the answer to your “is there a symbol behind all the backup dancers wearing masks?” In Asia pre-pandemic it was very common to see people wearing face masks in their everyday life, either they were sick or the smog from the cities made it hard to breath. Since you're passionate about filmography and digging their dancing, here's some BTS content and history you'll appreciate: Jan 2015 they released this killer dance video called "가요대제전 Intro performance Trailer," where they dance to a rock medley that includes Limp Bizkit. th-cam.com/video/S1Up-ZzHmuw/w-d-xo.html. This video was actually a clapback to some shady business when they performed this live the week before. Korea had been dominated by 3 entertainment agencies (nicknamed "the big 3") for years and held major sway with TV networks and music shows. BTS's company was tiny but their success made them a threat. BTS performed this dance number on a 2014 New Year's Eve music show as part of a dance battle against a popular group from a Big 3, and the camera work was absolute crap for BTS, clearly meant to undermine their performance since the other group was filmed fine. A week later, Big Hit releases their own filmed version. The kicker is that it opens with "VERY GOOD CAMERA" on screen, proceeding to show a dynamic multi-cam recording as if it's a music video, a great example of the quality BTS and Big Hit are known for. THEN they play the dance again prefaced with "GOOD CAMERA," this time showing it from just a single steady-cam mounted high to take it all in, no frills, but still captures the full choreo well, basically saying the music show could have literally put forth NO EFFORT and it would have been better than their garbage. Then they play the dance AGAIN, prefaced with the words DO YOU WANT MORE? followed by a dynamic zoomed-in single-cam version focusing just on the 7 BTS members instead of the full stage of backup dancers. (I believe one of the complaints against BTS at the time was that their performance battle wasn't fair because they had backup dancers but the other group had none.) I might be wrong, but I think this is one of the few times their company every publicly pushed back like this. This type of mistreatment from the Korean music industry against BTS is just one of many examples of what they faced for years as they fought to rise. If you want to see the original bad camera work at the music show, here yo go (this also includes a performance of their song Danger afterward) th-cam.com/video/kWuNi-OLLgU/w-d-xo.html,

We love seeing others discover BTS and really appreciate their art. I think it is wonderful for your channel to grow and reach success. All you have to do is find what you really enjoy within our world and remain genuine as you have already been. Hit Man Bang guided our young men to just stay genuine and that they have. 😍Roscoe! Great reaction!🔥🔥
RM is just that guy! He is also my bias.😁 OT7 with RM bias is how I look at it.😊
He was around 23(International) when that dance practice was posted 2017. He was 19 when they debuted 2013.
And yes Korean society is/can be a lot more touchy feely with close male relationships but they also have their own stereotypical views on what is manly.🤷🏾‍♀️
You attracted ARMY by being Roscoe and we noticed genuine kind wild spirit. Just be aware that some that say they are ARMY may not be, antis/anti fans and single member fans(like only one member) can be and are uber negative which gives us a bad name and rep. We aren't perfect but we work on being as positive and up lifting as possible so that we attract more positive people to ARMY.🙂

That's what they do - they always go an extra mile, since their debut days till now. Such simple but sincere things like Yoongi (SUGA) making a lot of small birthday gift packages to give to fans when they were having a fan meeting back in their early days and it was his birthday that day, to this day when they recently had their 4 sold out nights in SoFi stadium and made sure ARMYs had water in long lines for merch, cause it was hot in LA in the middle of the day. Never forgetting to thank ARMY when they win something, always including us with each achievement and cheering for us when times are hard. It's the both sided cheering for me, ARMY cheers for BTS, but BTS also cheers for ARMY to succeed in life, to be happy and healthy, every single day. Jimin attended a dance academy where he learned popping, locking, boogaloo etc. He was so good that at some point his teacher waved the tuition fees. Later on Jimin attended the arts school where he entered as and was a top student. He is specialized in contemporary/modern ballet but also learned traditional Korean dances. Jimin is also trained in martial arts (black belt in Taekwondo, knows Hapkido, and a few other). So his dancing incorporate all these various styles and skills which makes him a unique dancer dancer in my opinion. J-Hope has been a street dancer so he has those amazing urban hip hop moves, locking popping. And JK is a fantastic mix of them both. Like taking the best of everything. When 3J (JK, Jimin, JHope) come together as a dance unit, it is magic and breathtaking. They did a dance break to Butter for the rap part of Megan Thee Stallion. It was just 🤌🤌

Son SungDeuk!!!!! The most epic of all choreographers. He also used to dance back when they didn’t have much. He stayed with them and eventually became their performance director. He’s family. He even brings his son to the studio sometimes. He was a mentor on I-Land and helped choose the enhypen members. My favorite performance he directed and choreographed was for TxT’s Yeonjun. He was artist of the month on a dance channel and omg the performance was legendary. (enhypen and txt are the BTS little brother groups.)
J-Hope is their dance leader. He helps choreo, he cleans up routines and makes sure each member is doing it perfectly, and he spends time teaching them. They’re always working on being better. I cannot wait until you see On. Omg. It is perfection. Anyway, Jimin and J-Hope are main dancers. They’re equally talented, but in totally different styles. Sometimes Jimin shines, sometimes it’s Hobi, but they’re always sooooooo good.
The masks are normal in Asian countries lol. I grew up wearing one because of pollution and germs and hygiene. When Americans started having to wear them and they were complaining, I just laughed because I already had a collection of cute masks, knew all the makeup tricks, and I felt like I was finally the normal one 😂😂

Son Sung-deuk has been the BigHit/HYBE Performance Director and main choreographer
for BTS (Danger, We are Bulletproof pt2, &dozens of others)... he's been there since the beginning and set the standard very high....
Jimin is a trained contemporary/modern dancer, and helps in that mode. Jungkook is a human sponge and absorbed so much dance expertise, so he helps too.
J-hope was a street dancer and a great teacher. He often helps with choreo development and learns it 1st and helps others learn it...
Other choreographers include : Keone & Mari Madrid (Fire; Dope; Not Today); Sienna Lalau (ON; Chicken Noodle Soup; Dionysus); Brian Puspos (Serendipity; Butterfly); Rie Hata (MIC Drop; Anpanman; Airplane Pt. 2; David Lim (Boy in Luv); Dylan Mayoral (Boy Meets Evil) there are also many others. The () does not show all the songs they choreographed and often there are more than 1 choreographer on some songs.

BTS’ in-house (BigHit Music) choreographer is Son Sundeuk, who has been their performance director from the beginning. He has mentored them into their distinctive style of tightly synchronised dancing, combined with looser freestyling moments. Their dance leader is actually Award-winning street dancer, JHope, who often guides and monitors the team’s performance. But the one you noticed popping is Jimin, whose background is contemporary dance. He stands out because dancing is like breathing to him! Real stylish! 😂

Jimin did "street"-dance long before he did contemporary - which he did only for 1 - 2 years. Jimin won dance battles even against older experienced guys. Recently a video trended from those days. He learned contemporary as there was no school nearby that could teach him hiphop dances. But this helped him to become one of the most versatile dancers out there.
And Hobi - our sunshine and dance leader - had also dance lessons which his mother worked extra hard to afford for him. This is one of the reasons he made "Mama".
They are both main dancers no but about that. Please don't play the "who is the best danceer in BTS"- game: it is a matter of which one you like more because at that level that is only preference.
The truth is always a little more complicated.

When BTS practice, they also dance with how their live performance would come out… meaning, the emotion and facial expressions are included in the practice as well. Also, they sing live while they dance during rehearsals for a live performance or concert tours.

Yes, they have an in-house choreographer, Son Sung-deuk, who’s been with them since the very beginning. He’s won awards for his choreos and is also now their performance director. They do use other choreographers too when they want to incorporate different styles.

I'm so glad you put that cut at the end... Love your perspective and your reactions. Looking forward to seeing more.
Also, I haven't seen anyone comment on the question you had about them wearing masks. From what I know (and I am not anywhere close to any kind of expert in Asian cultures) wearing facemasks is something that is commonly done and was commonly done before the pandemic in a number of Asian countries (including South Korea). I am not sure of the specific reasons but I have heard a variety of things (air quality, respect for others if you are not feeling well, etc) but that could be wrong.

Your reactions are so pure and I can see myself in you when I fell down the rabbit hole. It was a performance in 2019 of Fire and I was sucked in, it’s just so energetic that I haven’t seen in any other groups.
The group has a team of choreographers including a performance director but they have collaborated with choreographers outside of South Korea too. But the group have also been involved with contributing to the choreography as well.

It's not a surprise that you noticed Jimin.
He majored in contemporary, but he can do it all since he also has pop/lock and hip hop roots. Whenever he dances he gives his all and is really captivating I'm sure you'll see more of it as you continue the journey
Along with the dance practices, 3J (jimin jungkook jhope) have some unit dances that you can check out..the talent is unbelievable.

You could feel the energy through the screen. I have to say I don't comment very often at all so I am quite awkward so thats probably why I couldn't get my meaning across properly. Thank you for taking your time to reply.
