Thank you for not just watching the video, but reading this segment too! I am Parth Goyal, a NEET & JEE Ranker and a MBBS Student at GRMC, Gwalior.

Despite being an "average" student till class 9th. I put all my body and soul to study in 10th and I scored 95%. I belong to COVID batch , in 1st term I got 98%. All teachers were shocked like "how the hell this is possible ??". It was the highlight of all time. And I can remember one of my teacher taunt me saying - "one more war to go children, once a topper is not always a topper." This sentence hurt me so badly. Another day my sst teacher asked me how did you manage to score this much . I said "sir, during COVID every one was busy enjoying their life with family members but mine was affected with COVID. I and my brother were safe. I put all my time doing self-study. And this is not the first time I have always been giving my best but never got the results as per my work,this time all my hardwork pays off."

@@RockstarShubham13 Let me tell u, Carbon-12 isotope is taken as Atomic Mass unit because it reacts with most of the elements found and thus, it is also found most on Earth.. And when we have to find the atomic Mass of other element, we compare it to Carbon-12 and we get the elements atomis mass in a whole number.. AND it was also found very earlier than other elements 😅😃

Firstly the scientists were going to take oxygen as the 16th isotope but it reacted with larger elements to form compounds and it gave the Atomic Mass Unit in whole numbers but carbon has 6 electrons, protons and neutrons therefore IUPAC recommended carbon 12th isotope to be suitable for any Atomic Mass Unit .

@@Username99042 yes bro you can rely on NCERT books as they contain questions that can be asked but if you study from other books like cms books published by different authors like G.P. Goel, Kaushal Goel, ML Agarwal and RT Sharma they have the best content. You can solve neet by only studing with these books. It's my humble request try class 9 ML Aggarwal maths book once solve the question same chapter is given in NCERT class 9 book match the standard then.

1. First hydrogen was chosen but later rejected as it's relative atomic mass came in fractions
2. Secondly, the regular oxygen atom with 16 mass was taken as standard for 2 reasons
a) oxygen reacted with large no of elements
b) this unit gave masses of most elements as whole numbers
But later oxygen was also rejected due to existence of isotopes.

2)C¹² is less reactive then other elements and isotopes of Carbon

It seems like u are in 9th but carbon forms millions-billions of compound with many of element... it forms more compound than all elements combined 😂
Answer is = c12 isotope has numbers of atoms such that we can get integer after dividing c12 atoms to any other element atoms.
Bhai 2nd to oxygen ka ha , 3rd point was never mentioned , and 2nd point to problem hogi , since zyada se zyada compounds form krna padega , tabhi to laws of chemical combination se mass nikal paoge , jaise John Dalton ne kiya tha
Carborn forms a large no of compounds , however main reason it was selected was due to the quarrel b/w physics and chemists since one party was using o-16 o-17 o-18 where physicists were. Using only o16 for finding the relative atomic masses , so IUPAC in 1961 removed O2 and introduced c-12 Isotope
2nd point was corrct since yes , carbon due to its 1/12 part being used , does indeed give whole no's
