    For simplicity I prefer the larger Baton 3 Pro (formerly S2R Baton 2), which has such fantastic run times you rarely have to recharge it. I also like the user interface on Olights, which I don't have to think about to remember how to get to all the modes. I also like being a customer with Olight because they constantly have promotions going on where I wind up with some free keychain lights.

    I got the x3 owl in the mail right now. It's going to replace my chest mounted sling bag light. I specifically got it for the red light. Red is a lot less harsh on human eyes and I was at an event in the dark where I felt like I was flashbanging people with a bright ass white LED. I'll probably attend an event like that again, so the more NV friendly option is a big selling point.
    My only gripe when I bought it was while it's nice it's water resistant, I would have liked a USB-C port for charging. Having to put it in a special case or slowly charge on a wireless charger is somewhat annoying.
    Idk I wouldn't carry this for backpacking or whatever, but for my urban EDC where I live, this is pretty good.

    I like the Streamlight protac 90x. Its nice cuz u can set it down and have it shine straight up if ur stuck working in drop ceilings or areas with low light and overhead work. I also like the different intensity settings and the fact it can take button top 18650's (not advertised to but it does work)

    Wuben seems pretty great, other than the form factor. The functionality seems to be in place, but it's just bulky, IMO.

    No, I would pocket carry the olight (especially with the better clip) vs. the Wuben, but I like the Wuben for inside use. The versatility of the power bank feature and the uniquieness of the Wuben's charging cable make it a good home or HQ choice, whereas, the Olight is better for mobile/recon duty.

    You said the Wuben's clip isn't the best, so I'm wondering if one, can attach it EASILY to one's clothes, or a pack strap/molle attachment? If not, it's use for walking, hiking, i.e. mobile use is severely limited.

    I have a Baton 3... It's already looking pretty hagard. Power button is pretty much wrecked, I'm on my second pocket clip and it's already breaking, and the battery life is barely enough to get me through a day. Currently eyeballing a Wuben X3 or a Olight Warrior Nano. The warrior nano has that second tail switch and pretty much double the battery capacity. My main worry is I feel I'm already limited by the throw distance of the baton 3 yet the warrior nano has even less throw...

    I just want to comment on the Wuben pocket clip. I have zero problems with the clip. I use it both clipped to my pocket (one shirts and jackets) as a area light and clipped to ball cap as a directional light. For me its perfectly designed with that maybe 1/4 inch space at the end of the turned up part of the clip to easily slip on anything. Honestly I don't get where people are having problems with the clip.

    Things have changed since this video. Both are great lights but Olight has upped the ante. I like the W3 and might get it if I did not already have a plethora of flashlights. With so many lights I don't really need another one with a built-in battery.The wireless feature is cool. It is not as waterproof with a IP65 rating, whereas the Olight is IPX8. My current similar choice would be to get the Baton 4 Premium paired with the right angle NW Perun Mini 2. Its charging case will now act as a powerbank and it will fit the NW Perun Mini 2. Yeah, 2 lights, but they are lightweight and one will always be charged or the batteries could be swapped. Plus the lights can run from the charging case with the lid open. No diffuser lid but that might be because on turbo or high it would be bad to have the lid closed. The only con to my setup is that the NW Perun Mini 2 does give you the red light feature, a really bright one and flashing for emergencies, say by the side of the road, but it does not have a low level red. So an almost perfect pair of lights. The competition is getting us some great lights.

  • @alexulmer7049
    @alexulmer7049 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    I have both of these lights. I was a Kickstarter backer for the Wuben and to be honest I had nothing but trouble with the light. The light itself works great, the case on the other hand is a bust. the first case I got would not charge the light and it was a nightmare to get Wuben to finally replace it. The new case will now charge the light but only if the light is off or at most running at 1 lumen. Anything else and the light draws to much power and the case will stop charging the flashlight. The Olight baton 3 is a better flashlight and case hands down. It’s built better all around and the case charges the flashlight 100% of the time. If you put the flashlight into the case and it’s on it will stay on until the lid is closed then it will turn itself off to protect the light and case from the light melting it. The case for the Olight will also charge the light almost 4 times and is more pocket or pack friendly. The light beam the Olight puts out is better and overall a better light. The clip lets you pocket carry it and like I use it place it on a brim of a hat and use it as a headlamp. Overall the Wuben was my first and most likely last light I get from them. The other part is you can replace the battery on the Olight but need to use their battery you can get from them. I ended up giving it to my son as he liked it and I kept the Olight and since have bought more of the Olights other models. In general they are a better company and make great lights.

      Hey man, we have to admit that X3 has received a great response from the market, but due to the complexity of the production process and some internal reasons, WUBEN suffered a very hard time before ago, and the result was that it didn't do a very good job of customer service; any business needs time to grow, and WUBEN has been focusing on innovating and breaking through for almost a year, and the X-series is a good illustration of this; thank you for your support of WUBEN! And please forgive us! Please stay with time to witness WUBEN's growth and expansion!

    Great review. Couple issues I see. The Wuban form factor seems useless and less functional. You mention this and functionality trumps all with a torch. On the charging case...neat, but what's the point. Unless you are carrying around the case with the light, you're going to bring the light back to the case which means the case may as well be plugged in. The only use case I can see for this is traveling away from power for a period of time. The obvious tradeoff being the added weight and thing you are carrying. I personally would rather carry 2 than 1 with a case (2 is 1, 1 is none).

      I'd never spend that much on a flashlight, but if I had a job where I needed a serious high performance flashlight, I wouldn't mess around and I'd go straight for the best, such as Surefire, no matter the cost. And then you can take a tax deduction. But for EDC....no way. And I find I don't need the super high lumens at all in EDC. I use the Olight S2R Baton 2 (now called Baton 3 Pro) and never go into turbo mode. My most used modes are moonlight, low, and medium.
